I never really played this or the first Legend of Zelda for more than 15 minutes back when i was a kid and had a NES. But now that im older and actually can figure out what to do, i might give this one a try. Ive almost beat the first one, and once i get that one done i will probably download this one, 1) because its the black sheep of the series and 2) just for nostalgia sake.
[even if i have never got more than 100exp lol]

this is a pretty good game better than I thought. I just got it today (SKKTR's post in a different thread gave me a little push to get it) The musics pretty good and I never knew the music from the temple stage from melee got it from this game. And The good thing about this game is I walked around In the same feild going back and forth between villages, for 2 hours, and I never got bored! I just kept fighting monsters trying to get level ups and figuring out how to beat them. And when your hp is low and you only have one life and 450 exp I get scared and bolt to the village to restore my health, just hopeing nobody attacks me and I lose all my points. I did eventually find out where to go, and may I say say some of the guys in the temple are hard! (one guy killed me 3 times!) So I'd say this is a very good game, I'd give it five stars. but it's kinda going to the extreme when they ask for 700exp when you have zero

Glad you like it man. Zelda II really is criminally underrated.

Yeah a lot of people say its bad just because its different. But All of the 3-D zeldas are easy, a link to the past harder than average, Zelda ll its just bloody hard. But I love it and this might be the first zelda that will take over 2 months to beat. (Wind waker doesn't count because that was my first zelda and before that I only played mario and animal crossing so I didn't know much on puzzles, exploring, or sword fighting)
