Default What is your opinion on World Heroes?

I just got the game on the VC the other day and it's my first time playing it, and yes it does feel like a SF2 clone, I noticed some similarities among characters, Ras Putin, and Braken are Dhalsim-esque putin has arms and legs that get bigger during attacks, and Braken (who coincidentally looks like M Bison); has arms and legs that reach out too.

I was playing it today and I notice another character (forgot his name); that has a move where he does a helicopter like motion to attack (but he uses his whole body unlike Ryu's hurricane kick); he also shoots out ninja stars which I thought were similar to Ryu's fireballs, he also has a uppercut much like the dragon punch.

I downloaded it because I was curious of how close it resembles SF2 (because I read it was similar to it); but now that I have it I have to say it is very similar (I downloaded all the SNES SF2 games already); but I was wondering if you guys had any thoughts on it?

World Heroes has always been just a decent fighter. The series really didn't get above average until it's outstanding World Heroes Perfect.

Is this your first Neo Geo fighter?

No, my first was Fatal Fury, and after learning about the history of SNK i've became more interested in their other games, I have most Neo Geo games downloaded on the VC, and I have SNK arcade classics on my PSP, so yeah I've played King of Fighters 94, but I was just wondering what you thought about World Heroes...

I never liked it. Too derivative and inferior to Street Fighter. I don't think SNK "got it right" until KoF 94' and SamSho.

It's not as good as Street Fighter or Samurai Shodown but I dropped more quarters in those 3 games then all other arcade games combined.

I guess it was always the characters that I liked in World Heroes. I don't know if it was because they were silly in comparison to the other fighters but something about them made me want to keep playing and try all the characters.

Julius Carn was my favorite.

I tried one of the World Heroes on Gametap. It is silly and Ras Putin scares me. @_@
