| I'd be down if I owned a 360 man. It was a pretty sweet game (just beat it with a friend this weekend). We were playing on casual though, don't know if that counts as beating it. Still it was fun while it lasted.

Horde IMO though is just as fun if not more fun. The two of us on our first attempt died on wave #7. After reliving our battle today at work we thought it would be wise and more fun if we recruted some more people.

| I still have a thorn in my side about Epic and whatever they make right now after they completely ruined one of the greatest online first person shooter series of all time. Way to ditch and spit in the face of your original fan base Cliffy- I mean, Cliff Blezinsky. The game does look fun though...

| Would you be talking about Gears of War or the terrible sequel to one of the greatest online shooters of all time?

| Gears of War 2 doesn't even come close to Left 4 Dead. But taken on its own, it is a very fun game.

| Just so we're clear, the greatest online multiplayer game I'm talking about is the Unreal Tournament series which was butchered by Unreal Tornament 3.

| Ah, never played Unreal, so I can't comment. Although from what I've played of Left 4 Dead, I'd be willing to argue that it is a contender for best online multiplayer game...although that may just be my love of Zombie movies talking.

| I've played both Left4Dead and Gears of War 2 and both are awesome games, but I would give the nod to Gears because it's a more balanced package. If you're not playing multiplayer all the time then Left4Dead's single player experience scares me. I do have questions that maybe Spore could answer about Valve and L4D. For the record, I'm not really familiar with Valve other then some of the games they make but I've never played any of them: How is Valve when it comes to supporting their games? The reason I'm asking is the fact that L4D only has 4 scenarios. Should people who buy L4D be expecting new scenarios in the form of downloadable content? I think I’m going to get a Valve game for my 360 in the next month but I’m not sure if it will be L4D or The Orange Box (which is only $17.99 used). Also, from what I found out, CliffyB was not the lead designer on the last Unreal game. From only playing Gears 1 & 2 and hearing him in various videos on Youtube, I can only praise what he is doing right now in the video game industry….but that’s just me. |

Anyway, I can gurantee you that you will be seeing a lot more in Left 4 Dead over the coming months. Of course that isn't even including the hundreds of custom made maps that are going to flood L4D eventually. Probably by the end of its life there will be two full new official scenarios and who knows what else. I mean, Valve still occasionally patches the 10 year old original Half-Life. So, I'm not sure you will be seeing much free content on the console version of L4D or Orange Box for a long, long time. Valve is one of the few companies left that makes their games for the PC and THEN ports it to the consoles, not the other way around so their titles are generally considered superior on the PC for all those reasons. The rule of thumb for Valve games is, "If you can run it on a PC, do so". You can't be dissapointed in either version of course though I'm not sure how long the game will last in terms of people playing before the average console owner's "game ADD" kicks in and they go off to play Halo 4 or whatever. What a wall of text up there.

| Thanks Spore, that answered my questions. Unfortantly I never got into PC gaming so the versions that I would buy would be for the 360. |

| Big Boo | The Orange Box is so good that it can get you into PC Gaming, trust me, it's a lot better than it's console comparison And Spore, I second the reason for the missing patches on the console versions, I've heard the same reason myself. And I also want to add that Blizzard is a steady second place on customer support, patch 1.16 was released this week for StarCraft and lots of new content are available for free in World of Warcraft. Edit: Oh yeah, Gears of War 2. My friends have it and they love it, two of them just beated Insane in co-op and they've reached level 30 in Horde, took them 3 hours :O

As far as Horde goes, depending on the level, the two of us can last only until wave 7 but we're playing with just two people.

| Big Boo | Yeah, they were playing online with two randoms, talking over Skype, also on some map with lasers that was rather easy to defend. The best thing with playing with a friend is that you apparently can start off were you died. Although, level 30+ is a real hell according to them

| Still looking for more people to play horde with, if anyone is interested. I'm still playing through the story mode with my friend. What a great game. It has that epic feel that I love in a game and really feels like you're in a huge movie. Can't get enough Gears! |
