Default Headsets

Okay...so second baby is on the way on the 17th of this month and I can no longer sit up until 3 in the morning playing on the xbox. At least...not without a headset. Does anyone have any recommendations? I've been looking at the Ear Force X3 as I'd like independent voice / game volume controls and 5.1 stereo sound...over to you guys...

Congratulations! I too have number 2 on the way, but not until September. Just like you I have been searching my options. If I get any of the Turtle Beach systems it will be the cheapest one because I can't justify spending $99 for a headset. I’m wondering if it will actually help me or not. I’m thinking it’s my voice that is waking my son up and not the volume of the TV. But it would be nice to actually be able to hear what in game instructions are trying to tell me.

I've been playing Bioshock with the volume turned down and I can barely hear what Atlus is trying to tell me.

This is the problem...voice or tv sound...going to try to keep it as quiet as possible, the last thing I need is both of them screaming the house down.

Looking at either Ear Force X4 or Tritton AXPro. Both are expensive but offer decent 5.1 along with independent SFX / Voice controls.

I hear the X3s are pretty good as well and a bit more in my price range.

Can anyone recommend a decent retailer in the UK?

RMA, can you give us a review when you pick up a pair and try them out?
