Wan't this the game where the Hospital prices kept increasing every time you used it? If so, they failed to mention it in the review.

Failing to mention something in a review? That's not like them.

I have played through it. An easy 8/10 for me.

I can't see any of your worries being realistic.

There was no hospital rising price stuff and you don't need the hospitals anyway. And the game saved the progress automatically. You never need to write down or put in a password thanks to the Wii's suspend feature. You had unlimited continues and you kept all your Gold, Equipment, Heart Containers, Game progress when you lose all your health and have no health potions available. You just started back in the town, the centre of the game world. There was nothing annoying about this game. I can see why this is one of the best Master System (and Turbografx) games.

This is my second favourite Wonder Boy right after Monster Boy in Monster World.

One good thing about having a password in this game though, is that you can change between the Master Systems original sound and that FM Synthesizer for 16-bit sound. This makes the soundtrack extremely catchy. I love the soundtrack with this FM Synthesizer. But in case if you want to listen to the game with the poor-kids-i-have-no-fm-synthesizer-for-my-master-system-version you can switch to it by pressing the minus-button (just like in Wonder Boy In Monster Land - it had the same feature). The downside of this feature is that when you switch that option, the game resets. That's why it's good to have the password as an additional option.
And of course you want to keep that password that you get when you're before the final boss, with all equipment, full items, tons of gold, gemstones, all transformations and everything.

I can fully recommend this game to all jump & run / action adventure fans.

Thanks for the review, dude, and thanks for clearing up that Hospital pricing issue, since it was really the only thing that was keeping me from getting it. Now it's back on top of my wishlist, and I can't wait until it comes to NA.
