Default What do you think of Mega Man 9?

Hey guys

So Mega Man 9 came out yesterday on wiiware. I downloaded it and liked it a lot but it's HARD, like holy crap type hard. I've tried splash woman and another stage and I didn't make it to the boss on either. If its not disapearing blocks in the dark or traveling on bubbles hovering over spikes its something else.

That being said its a great throwback to the old days and pretty much what I expected.

This should be in Wiiware Discussion.

Mega Man 9 is awesome, and is a great way to get into the series. I don't find it as hard as everyone says. I mean it is challenging, but it's not frustrating like I've heard other people say. I think it's a prefect balance. It's not so hard that I hate it, and it's hard enough that I know I don't need to download the higher difficulty.

It's challenging for sure at the start but much like the other Mega Man games, once you learn the layout of the level and where the enemies are, it's a cake walk. I like it though. I'm still not crazy about the 8-bit style but it's not distracting from the game.

Still to be released in the U.K.

If Mega Man II is anything to go by, it should be the best game on Wii Ware

-_- I feel that this was a waste of 1000 points because of the difficulty; a complete turn off. Before anyone call me a newb; I grown up with 2,3, and 4 and they were NEVER this hard.

I grew up with those exact three Mega Mans and also thought this one was very challenging. I did beat the game and I can safely say that I think it's awsome.

This is how I feel. My first time through MM9 was definitely rough, but my other ten times were no problem and right now it's rare that I die more than two or three times in a full playthrough.

So far I've only played a 2-level demo but that already blew me away and exceeded all my expectations. I can't wait for it to be released tomorrow!!

I still only beaten one boss; that enough is telling me the difficulty is stupid.

Moderately more difficult than MM1 and MM2 on "hard".

I think you just need to play the game some more. As for comparing the difficulty of this game to VC games; Mega Man 9 is harder than the two Mega Mans up on the VC, but is definitly not as hard as some thing like Ninja Gaiden or Ghosts 'n' Goblins.

Okay, cool. I can almost beat Ninja Gaiden. I can't seem to beat the last boss....and then I have to start the level over again!

Mega man 9 has lots of trial and error. You must learn all about the stage, before you can even try to beat it. As I don't think anyone here beat any stage on Mega Man 9, on their first try. And giving up because it's too hard isn't the answer either. I presonally love the difficulty, and glad Capcom decide to challenge me. I can't sy i'd like the game as much if the difficulty was lower. But everybody has their own opinion.

I don't know if you know this, but in Ninja Gaiden there are 3 last bosses in a row and if you beat any of them you wont need to fight them again, even if you die.

Well I ain't giving up; it's just been real aggravating I can't proceed as much as I thought I would. Plus a friend of mine stated that it was going to be trial and error since he played the ZX games and that is how they were.

Galaxy Man was the only boss I could beat. Only other boss I even got to was Concrete Man. I haven't had that much trouble in a game in a looong time, but I intend to beat another few stages.

I beat it earlier today. It's not the hardest Mega Man game (That still goes to 3) but I think the DLC difficulty modes will make 9 the hardest.

WHAT, do you have a life, at all? Galaxy Man was hard now I'm finding hard to get to any other boss whose with me people that MM9 is the hardest game in history, except Drake since he's beat apparently.

As most have said; these stages take more trial and error than just run and gun.
Here is a hint: keep working on Jewel Man's stage.

Mega Man? Hardest game ever? Try the Ghosts 'n Goblins series (The original or Ultimate, preferrably), or shmups like Gradius and R-Type.

I dont get why everbody says MM1 was hard. I found SMB3 to be waaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy harder (especially world .

The only hard part of MM1 were Wily's Castle boss fights.

I beat Galaxy, Magma, and Jewel man. I am working on Splash women.
Honestly I think its one of the best MM games. I rank it up there with MM3 and MM5. But not as good at MM2

But if I gave it a score it would be 9/10

I love Jewl Mna's Stage, I know it perfectly now. The music is my favorite in the game so far, and the obsicles are really interesting. I jut got to get the boss down.

Even though it's a very hard game, I can see myself downloading the harder difficulty. Just to see how intense it really is, and to see if I can beat Concrete Man with it.

Excellent game. Really hard, though. I made it to Splash Woman twice and Tornado Man once. Tornado Man's stage has the best music IMO.

I actually found it to be a bit too easy at times, seeing me reaching Wily after about 2 hours, but MAN IS WILY HARD. I hate his second and third form...the first one's actually just as easy as it is fun. Gonna have to use some E tanks, I guess.
It's a great game, but I miss exploration (come on, even in MM 1 you had to find the special item), charging and sliding. I'd give it an 8.

I'm personally reserving judgement until we have the Endless Stage and Special Stage. The Special Stage has my favourite song on the soundtrack, hopefully the actual stage is just as good: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LvNw9O0f2C8

Yay. After putting down the game in frustration yesterday at Doc Wily, I tried another go and after rushing through Wily's Castle in no time I just beat the entire game without a single E or M tank or the damage reducing thing. Phew.

Just Downloaded the Endless attack mode.

I rather like it. The music is nice and the stage is still fairly challenging. It's pretty neat because each time you start it, you start in a different place, so it's tricky to memorize patterns. You can use all of the special weapons, and it includes a little online leaderboard.

It's a great deal for only $3.

I would suggest that you only get Proto Man after you have beaten the game because he does make the game harder. In the 30 minutes I played with Proto Man I was only able to beat three Robot Masters.
