| I am hearing alot about FF:CC but havent played any of them but I enjoy the Final Fantasy series (all before VIII) Its supposed to hit the WiiWare section sometime this year (I'd bet in the summertime) does it play like traditional RPGS? or does it play like Shining Force?

| There's one Crystal Chronicles out yet, and it's nothing like an RPG at all. It's an 4player-hack'n'slay if you have 4 GBA's and 4 Gamecube-Link-cables. It's a 1 player hack'n'slay - but you can play 8 player alternate - if you have no GBA's. As for the two new Crystal Chronicles games - I only hope you don't need 4 Nintendo DS to get the full gameplay. |

| Yeah... like SKTTR said... no DS's required for some multiplayer would be an awesome feature. |

| Lemmy Koopa | I've looked into ths more, and it's not really what i thought it was gonna be. Instead of going to find treasure, you make other people get your treasure. But that's not a negative thought, and It's not stopping me from downloading this one.

| Do you like my helmet? | I definitely won't be getting it. The GCN FF:CC is a terrible excuse for an arbitrary Final Fantasy name tack-on brand-pimp cash-in. The WiiWare game looks completely different, but it's still not an RPG—it's more of a SimCity game that takes place in a crapped-down, vaguely Final Fantasy setting. |

Blog Entries: 9 | Nothing I read about the game is appealing to me. Square Enix can try to nickel and dime all they want, they won't be getting a penny out of me for this underwhelming game.

| Hi, new member....I just downloaded "Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as King" today and I started playing it for a few minutes.... First things, first. It's pretty. It is really pretty. The graphics are very amazing and are definitely in the style of Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts. The gameplay is interesting too. It's mostly talk to people, build stuff, talk to more people, but I'm one of those gamers who is into empire building games like Civilization, Warcaft, and Age of Empires, so it's a good fit to me. I've only played 30 minutes of the game, but I'm looking forward to playing it a little bit more. Gotta beat Okami first, though. |

| I wouldn't buy this game because it is a Final Fantasy game. It's only that in name anyway, everyone should know that. I wouldn't play the game thinking that I am about to have a turn-based boss fight. But I love Sim games like Age of Empires and Civilization, and in that aspect I think it would be an ok buy. I wish I could see a review or two online. Any links? |

| There are some impressions on IGN.com and 1up.com. I'm trying to beat Okami as fast as I can so I can get back to this game... |

| Do you like my helmet? | So, this game certainly isn't Final Fantasy, but at least it looks quite detailed and large for a WiiWare game. I'd like some more details besides the usual first impressions. Is it possible to name any characters? Can you name your own kingdom? Can you name anything? Having a legion of adventurers seems like it could be kind of cool if I could give them names. EDIT: Google tells me that the ability to rename adventurers will eventually be released as DLC for a buck. What a rip! Apparently you can also pay a buck to have the ridiculously huge-breasted royal attendant dressed in skimpier clothes. Classy. Last edited by Jogurt the Yogurt; 16th May 2008 at 12:09 AM. |

| Do you like my helmet? | I really want to rename adventurers. I will probably consider getting the game as soon as that content is released, so whoever has it and is keeping tabs should keep us updated in this thread. |

| I bought the game on the Shop Channel the day it came out, and I love it (although I've never played any REAL Final Fantasy games; and I know this one is unlike any of them). I love SimCity-like games. I have to admit, though, 15 bucks is a little high for a WiiWare game, considering how simple they are, but there's something to be said for graphics and depth that the game DOES have for a WiiWare... I don't know. Try it before you buy it, because everyone I've talked to about it either loves it or hates it; no in betweens... >.< |

Seriously a buck to be able to rename characters? Shouldn't that be in the game to begin with? It's not like this is some revolutionary feature that has never been included in a FF game before. Square-Enix is totally missing the point of DLC, IMO.

Race Packs: closer tweaking of your adventurers (diff. races have better stats as certain classes = easy to do without). More Buildings/Dungeons: add more stuff to do for powerful teams (after most people have become bored with the game = unnecessary). Luxury/Larger Houses: make the game easier by raking in money faster (make the game get boring faster = unnecessary). 2 Costumes (so far!!!): totally unnecessary but pandering to crazy completists. One draw of a lot of these updates is what they add, aesthetically, to the game. More variety of buildings' appearances. More variety of citizen/adventurer appearances. Costumes. Etc. So everyone is going to have their own idea of what they need to make the game "complete" for them. For me, it's renaming characters. For others, it's costume swaps. For some, it's more dungeons and longer/extended core gameplay (I imagine I'll get bored of the game before I reach that point, but you never know). But the scary thing is you know S-E is going to keep releasing these little update packs to lengthen the game, add more dungeons, and give your adventurers more stuff to do for years, maybe centuries(!!!) until people stop buying them.
