6/10 is a bit harsh. I get the impression the reviewer didn't even bother to finish the game, which is pretty disappointing as the first loop only has five levels and can be completed in less than half an hour. The graphics are also much more advanced than late-80s NES graphics and are closer to mid-90's arcade graphics (not that the difference will mean much to a lot of you, I'm sure). I'd give it a 7 at least, maybe 7.5, but whatever.

Still not sure about this. It sounds decent, but this sounds like you will get more enjoyment out of it if you are a big Gradius fan. Espically since this is a remix, not a new game.

Every game since Gaiden has re-used as much content as Rebirth. By Gradius standards, this is a new game. Last edited by muesli; 10th March 2009 at 01:24 PM.

I don't understand how reviewers can say that the graphics are comparable to 8 or 16 bit games. The graphics are way better than that, and they aren't pixelated, they're actually blurry. Also, this reviewer sounds like he sucks at shooters. There's a huge difference between the various difficulty levels.

| Well, I´m a Gradius fan since of 1990 years. I played every single Gradius games launched to date, except Gradius Galaxies for GBA. Gradius ReBirth surprised me for your quality, because the developer was not Konami or Treasure (developer of Gradius V), but a unknown developer for me, named M2. Below, my quick considerations of this WiiWare title: Level design: Very cool - revival of great moments of classic Gradius and Salamander stages. Gameplay: Good, despite there are slowdowns Music: Good with "midis" of the ancient Gradius. Controls: Good. You can use WiiRemote, Classic Controller or Game Cube Controller. Graphics: Third more beautiful on Gradius series, being Gradius V the most beautiful, Gradius IV the second and then Gradius ReBirth. Pros: - Classic Gradius feeling - Presence of nostalgic sounds. Cons: - Can appears boring slowdowns in some areas. - A little short (just 5 stages, 6 if you count the alternative path on stage 1). My score for Gradius ReBirth: 8.4/10 In my humble opinion, this is a must-have for Gradius fans or Shmups fans. This is personally my favorite title for WiiWare to date. Below, the Complete Video Walkthrough that I made of the game played on your difficult normal: YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.
