Default Nunchuk issues?

Anyone have any issues with the Nunchuk that comes with the Wii? I finally decided to try boxing yesterday in Wii Sports and followed the instructions to a T on the console on connecting the Nunchuk. Alas, nothing happens. My cursor disappears and I can't do anything. I also tried it with a different Wiimote and still nothing.

I'm beginning to think that I might have a bad Nunchuk.

Anyone else have this problem?

Hope to call Nintendo tonight when I get home and see what they say about it.

Works fine for me but bear in mind it's probably the trickiest of all the wii sports games to get the hang of. I'm still not sure how to punch differently between high shots and low...pretty much guess work but it works for me!

You can make a simple test.
Connect the Nunchuck to the Wii remote while on the channels menu.

The pointer should move also with the analog controller on the nunchuck.

Ah, good idea. I didn't think about that. I was only trying it from the boxing menus. That would definetely let me know if something is amiss or not.

Thanks for the tip.

I'm sorry but this trick does not work.
I don't know what's on my mind, I remember something I did with the Nunchuck instead of the remote, but I can't recall exactly what it was..

[EDIT:I think it was with the Classic Controller]

Kudos to Nintendo Customer Service.

I called them after I got home and explained the Nunchuck issue to them. It was something they had not heard before and immediately shipped me out a brand new nunchuck. Didn't even ask for the bad one back (it's useless anyways).

With all the terrible CS issues with most companies today it was refreshing to talk to a English speaking (with no accent) person who was knowledgeable and friendly.

Long live Nintendo!

Just a quick update. Got the new nunchuck and it's working perfectly. Kudos to Nintendo for excellent CS. Now to figure out what to do with the bad one...

Use it as what it was made for: a nunchuk! Make a Bruce Lee movie with it and put it up on YouTube

Yeah that's even better :P
Then you must have a friend dual-wielding Wiimotes that is Leonardo, that would be gold.
