| If there's a console succeeding Wii, what'll happen to the Wii Shop, the Miis or anything in particular? If Nintendo's making an HD version of the Wii, I'm gonna pray to the stars and hope I get one!

| Koopa Trooper | Hopefully they'll make some kind of memory thing were you can save all the things you've had on your wii and enable you to transfer that to your new console. Or maybe im thinking to wishfully

| Do you like my helmet? | There'll probably be a way to claim your VC purchases and have them transferred (by Nintendo). I don't know about Miis and all that jazz. If the new console is backwards compatible, then there's a chance you could just send all your Miis over right from your Wii / controller. |

| I wonder how you'll transfer all your Miis, Saved Data and VC/Wiiware downloads to Wii 2? Anyway if you can't no new console for me I'm fine with Wii 1 and I don't think you can really expand on the Wii's tecnology much anyway. |

| I think Nintendo will send out codes via the Wii's mail system, we type in the code we got from our Wii into our WiiHD/Wii-2 and that will prove that we have bought some Virtual Console games in the past. Or, we just get a username and password for our Wii like the PC program Steam. Or, Nintendo might be scum and get us to pay for the games again.

| I agree that a new Nintendo console will come out during that period where all consoles come out. Yet I don't believe that it'll be a small enhancement, let alone carry on the Wii name. I believe we'll be waiting about 3 more years to get our hands on a new Nintendo console. And if that happens, I hope there is NO Wii shovel-ware. |

| A new Nintendo system will come out, but around winter 2011. I also believe that there will be a totally new Nintendo system, not an enhanced Wii, or even carry the Wii name at all. But if it does come out, let's hope the tsunami of Wii shovel-ware will stop. |

| There will never be a Wii 2. Not at the rate the Wii is still selling. All joking aside. I question if there really will be a Wii 2. If sales do in fact slow down there will still be a strong wave they could ride out for years. Also, Nintendo will wish to emulate or surpass the Wii's success. This would require them to innovate yet again and this requires them to once more disrupt the market. This means that their next system will not be Wii 2 but something else entirely. Though I do fear it is the slow death of traditional gaming as we know/knew it. Another route they could go is already being explored in the DSi. Re-release the system with a few new features to keep people coming back for more. There are several big tests that will direct Nintendo's decision on this in the coming year. Firstly, how many of Nintendo's titles go 'evergreen'. One of the reasons I believe that DS development has slowed down is because sales are still flowing in for their evergreen titles. Mario Kart DS and New Super Mario Bros are still charting in the top ten for system agnostic game sales. These games are several years old. Nintendo already has several Wii evergreen games in the form of Mario Kart Wii and Wii Fit, among others. If Wii Music and Animal Crossing (along with Wii Sports Resort, but more on that later) join the EG Club there will be less incentive for Nintendo to jump to a new system, thus aborting a steady flow of money from these older games. Secondly, a similar move to the DSi may already be coming to Wii. Wii Sports Resort with it's Motion Plus is a major addition and modification to the console. The amount of change to the way we view and control games could almost warrant the creation of 'Wii 2'. Make a Wii with Motion Plus from the get-go with larger and more streamlinned storage, a more dynamic and user friendly online interface along with HD would more that make up for a number of the Wii's current shortcommings. In fact if Nintendo was following the traditional path of game business then they would have saved Motion Plus for Wii 2. The fact that they are attempting to incorporate it into the current Wii SKU shows that they don't intend to make a brand new system any time in the next couple of years. If sales of WS Resort is strong and the Motion Plus reaches a heavy attach rate, then Nintendo has effectively performed a system re-design of sorts, thus negating the need for a new system to add features. If Nintendo eventually did release a system it will most likely be a system redesign (Wii-'i' akin to DSi), not an entirely new system. As others here and elsewhere have said, just give the Wii a storage device and true high def output and most of the issues it has compared to modern systems is resolved. Anyway that is why I feel there will never be a Wii 2. At best expect a Wii 1.5 or Wii Plus re-design in new colors. But in reality, unless sales of both the system and the Motion Plus add-on tank, there will be no new system ever. |

| I see 2nd versions of Nintendo's HANDHELDS, but not CONSOLES (save for NES 2), so I doubt that there would be a Wii 2. Also, shovelware is inevitable, for not everyone gets things right the 1st time. However, like Alex "Says," quality control may block good games (example: Bio Miracle Bokkute Upa), and I doubt that any quality control can truly remove all shovelware, since people may differ in what games are shovelware. |

| Para-goomba | I just hope this "casual" thing dies down and gaming has a chance to return to how it used to be. Having said that this gen has had some absolutely brilliant games, some of the best of all time. Shame only one of them was on the Wii though. |

| You should know that I did not go into serious all-around gaming until Pokémon Colloseum, so most of my retro knowledge was from reading. |

| I see the wii going down the GBA / DS route where there will different versions of the same system with mabey some extra features but not essential to the system just like DVD playback etc. And these systems will come out in ranges of colours and styles etc. But I dont see andy new consoles be it wii, Playstation or XBox in the next couple of years. Possibly 2012 but no sooner. |
