| Jumping Piranha Plant | Found this on GameFaqs: KitsuneRisu Posted 8/23/2007 9:21:15 AM message detail Alright, there have been many posts about this, and truth be told, I used to be one of those guys who didn't think that K.K. Slider had much of a chance to be a playable character. But after the most recent update, I have changed my mind ever so slightly. Well, let's look at the arguments one by one. 1. K.K. Slider can't be a playable character because he's in the background. The game mechanics have proven many times that this does not matter. If you played a 4-player game and everyone chose Mario, would that be wrong? Does this defy the laws of gameplay? No. I don't see why you couldn't have a character both in the foreground, fighting, and in the background as well. In addition, there is no reason at all why you couldn't take out K.K. Slider from the background when he was a chosen character, or after certain checkpoints. (Such as unlocking him) 2. K.K. Slider is there to play music at 8pm on Friday nights only. Really? I don't think anyone confirmed that. We surely saw him playing a guitar in a screenshot, but screenshots lie. In fact, ALL of the screenshots of gameplay on Smash Bros. Dojo are posed, to a certain extent. So with that in mind, why did a SONG make me change my mind? As I stated in another thread, the whole is more than the sum of its parts. Sure, Sakurai has been paying a lot of attention to K.K. Slider, and has posted a lot of rather enthusiastic comments regarding him. A lot of people think that the "I'm too excited to say it" comment in the Smashville post refers to the Concert at 8. A lot of people think that the "Heroes Always Arive Late" is a tribute and reference to masked superheros in Japanese live action hero drama culture. But is it really that complex? But one thing stuck out. Namely, there's a K.K. Slider song being played in the background of the Smashville stage. So... wait. If there's ALREADY a K.K. Slider song being played... then... why is Friday Nights at 8pm THAT special to warrant Sakurai being so overly excited? What, K.K. Slider comes out and... plays a DIFFERENT song? K.K. Rider is already one of the more memorable themes that he plays. My suspicion, and truly, before you say, I don't have any proof of any of this. This is just some thoughts and some reasonable extrapolation of the evidence. On Fridays at 8, K.K. will come out and challenge you. If you beat him, you stand to unlock K.K. Slider as a secret character. After doing so, he will no longer appear in the background at any time in any stage. Since a K.K. song by default plays in the background of Smashville, I doubt it would be simply a time when fighting is put on hold and K.K. interrupts the match with a minute or two of warbling of another K.K. song. If I'd wanted that, I could always actually pop Animal Crossing itself. Perhaps... it really IS too exciting to say! THE FOLLOWING IS A COMMENT BY JONNO Is this, perhaps, why Pikachu and Fox are looking at K.K. Slider in the screenshot below? Last edited by Jonno; 23rd August 2007 at 06:45 PM. |

| Jumping Piranha Plant | "Animal Crossing: Go K.K. Rider!" (0:52) Composition Supervisor: Toru Minegishi Arrangement Supervisor: Keigo Ozaki (For those of you who didn't know) It hardly needs to be said that this music plays in Smashville. Many Animal Crossing songs are pretty serene, so there are a lot of songs that aren’t very suited to a fighting game. What to do, what to do...? Then there’s this arrangement. As I sit and enjoy this song, it reminds me of one phrase in particular... "Heroes always arrive late." |

| It's possible, but for me to start to believe that ANY AC character will make it into Brawl, you'd have to post a moveset. |

| That's all great ideas! But he plays on Saturdays, not on Fridays. And for the music thing. There may be "Go! K.K. Rider" and one or two other default songs for Smashville just like in every other stage. But every Saturday at 8pm K.K. Slider turns up and plays one of his more calm and chilling tunes. This is the most interactive stage in the game. Not only that music thing. But it also transforms with the seasons and has a day/night cycle depending on when you play. And I bet there will be random special characters on certain days. I'm gonna try this stage on christmas If that isn't enough, it also will have different weather conditions, depending on the forecast of the Wii Weather channel. So if you play Smash Bros on a rainy day, it's gonna rain (at least) in the Smashville stage too. |
