Default Super Mario World 3

I dont get why this has never been made. Both the first and 2nd one were two of my favorite Mario games ever. Has the creator ever came out and said why he never made a 3rd one?

The N64 was released and Nintendo had to divert all its energies to damage control.

I was thinking about New Super Mario Bros. Wii the other day, and thought to myself (Why didn't they just make Super Mario World 2?" Of course the only reason I want it is because I like the map system in the game.

Yea exactly my reason I love the map system in the game compared to the Super Mario Bros. system. Super Mario World will always be my all time favorite Mario game just for some reason I hate the pacing and such of the super mario bros. series. I bought new super mario bros wii. and dont get me wrong I love it and still play it daily but for some reason doesnt have the charm that Super Mario World had.

For me it's the music that brings it down. It's a little boring. Some tunes are fine, but some seem just rushed. Not to mention 50% of the music was re used. And like I said, the map just doesn't pop like it did in SMW. Also, I hate the two second delay you have after completing/failing a level. I want to move the second I get out of the level, not a few seconds after! It's something I wouldn't mind it most games, but it's hard to tolerate in this game, exspecially after you die in a level.

The music is Super Mario World was top notch I just think the overall level design was better then the Super Mario Bros. series. I just dont understand why they are shunning that series.

I love to see a Super Mario World 3 (2D), but not on the portables like DS.

I'd prefer a portable Super Mario World 3 with more content than New Super Mario Bros. Wii.

I agree, I wouldn't mind one on WiiWare or something as long as they put actual effort into making it a good, full-quality retro game (like Mega Man 9, not like Castlevania: The Adventure ReBirth). I'm not as keen on the 2D side-scrolling platformers these days.

I would've rather had SMW3 than SM64. I never much liked 64.

But without the revolution of 64 we couldn't have Galaxy!

I would rather SMW3 over Yoshi's Story.

That. Despite not enjoying many of MM9's design choices, there's no denying that it's high quality. Unfortunately Castlevania: Rebirth was medium quality at best.

A new 2D Mario with 2D graphics sounds great, those 3D graphics are completely devoid of any charm.

You really think Nintendo would go for a new Mario sprites game? Keep dreaming. I really wish Sonic 4 would've had sprites. Isn't anyone paying attention to Capcom and Megaman 9-10?

A "Super Mario 64 2" would be great as well, although considering all the goodies we are about to recieve with Super Mario Galaxy 2, I think that's even better.

But I sort of agree on the fact that New Super Mario Brothers series, whilst great games, simply don't contain the variety of levels that Super Mario World had. In fact, New Super Mario Brothers Wii, despite featuring 9 overworld maps, has three less levels than New Mario Brothers DS. The DS original had three star coins in each level totalling 240. Considering that Mario 64, Sunshine, and Galaxy each had 120 stars/shines, 240 is a multiple of this number and thus makes logical sense, seeing that star coins are a bit easier to find than stars/shines. But Super Mario brothers Wii has only 231 star coins, 3 levels less than it's DS counterpart. Why not find somewhere to squeeze an extra three levels, surely the dev team didn't run out of ideas???

super MArio World simply rocks. It seems like NSMB is more of a cornucopia of SMB1 and SMB3 ideas than is Super Mario World, comparatively. And yes, Super Mario World had a lot more gameplay. But if you are craving more of the same, try "Super Demo World". Google it. I can't provide any more info here.

Isn't this obviously the intention? It's called New Super Mario Bros. after all, not New Super Mario World.

Super Mario world games rocks. I have played this game and its really very fun playing. Graphics are amazing. Super mario world is loved more for brillient monster designs and level designs and has yoshi. New Super Mario Brows wii is also good playing game.
