Default How far are you in New! Super Mario Bros. Wii?

Well personally I haven't gotten that far in the game, currently i'm at the world before the 2nd castle in world 3 so how far are you.

Personally, I prefer the air!!
I beat it a couple weeks ago and have casually been working on completing the game. I'm thinking of starting a new save and doing a minimalist/speed run.

I am currently playing this co-op only, so far we've obtained all of the Star Coins from Worlds 1 to 5. So right now we're just going through with getting all of World 6's Star Coins.

I'm already dreading World 7, one of my least favorite Worlds.

3rd stage of (I assume) world 1.

The sad thing is I got it on launch day but only had time to play 15 minutes of it yesterday.

I'm playing it co-op with the gf. We're currently on world 3. As she started her own save yesterday though I might do likewise and play single player as well.

Beat the game last week. Have all the coins for world 1, and 2 of the 3 coins in every other stage. So working on those tricky coins now.

I'm guessing waiting for Christmas/the holidays/gift-giving time/family time. He lives in Canada so it's most likely not because it's the PAL version.

Not sure how much further we'll get in co-op as the GF, not being used to too many games, started to get really frustrated with the co-op in the ice world today to the point that she resembled a small child throwing a fit. Thankfully showing her how to operate the bubble seemed to bring her back from the brink

She really wants to play the game taking turns but there doesn't seem to be a proper option for that.

lol. you just hand over the remote when you die.

im in world 8. i also completed world 1, all coins and secret exit found.

why all the separate saves? its drop in drop out ...

i mean, im OCD too, but i didnt even think of that. and thats something i would do. it just seems unnecessary, since you can add or drop players just by pausing on the map.

Sure but that's not really a proper taking turns option ala the original Super Mario Bros games that this is suposed to be an extention/reboot of.

Like Jogurt says, we wanted to play the game together so that we could explore the worlds at the same time. The drop-in drop-out isn't really an option then but it would have been nice to have a take turns option so that her character and my character had different stats/powerups we had collected.

I actually thought the bubble would make the game too cheap when I discovered it but it actually adds a dangerous element to the game as if the other person dies when you're in the bubble its time to start all over again.

i know, im sorry its just what came into my head.

taking turns is boring anyway. either i carry my wife's character through tough areas, she can bubble up, or she can just try to hang with it.

but i see what you mean.

A little update here.

I've completed the "main" game, and now working on the star coins I never attained going through the first time. I've collected all star coins and unlocked what can be unlocked (cannons) up to world 4 (minus the third star coin in the Ghost house on world 3).

Man if this isn't a blast. It's like playing SMB World the day it came out all over again...but better.

I haven't played for over two weeks! Just been forgetting to amongst lots of other business around this time of the year.

I've been playing the game along with my sister and we're up to World 8. I've gone through and collected all the star coins for Worlds 1 to 3, though

Completed the main game tonight too. I'm in World 9.
And have all coins in W1 and W2.
Haven't seen any Super Guide yet. How can I get them?

And btw, what is needed to master the game? (apart from collecting all gold coins...)
i now have 1 star on my save file.
Since on DS you can have 3, how many stars can you get in the Wii version?

Die 7 or 8 times in one stage in solo player mode.

You can have a total of 5 stars. As for the conditions, read below:

EDIT:
I finally beaten the game co-op last night, and I earned three sparkling stars. I know how to obtain the fifth star, but I'm clueless as how to obtain the fourth star.

So far, I have done the following:
Warning: Spoiler Below.
Beaten New Super Mario Bros. Wii = Check. This is to get the first star.
Obtain all Star Coins from Worlds 1 to 8 = Check. This is to get the second star.
Found all of the Secret Goals = Check. This is to get the third star.
Went through every Cannon = Check. This may be another way to get the third star.
Not use the Super Guide = Check. This is how you get your stars to sparkle.
Entered every Toad House = Does not count toward a star!
Beaten all of the overworld enemies = Does not count toward a star!
Obtain all of the Star Coins in World 9 = Not yet, this is my fifth star!

The only thing I could think of is that I forgot to... Warning: Spoiler Below.
go through the regular exits.

So that's something for us to go through next time we play.

Completed the game today.

Got all 231 star coins, all secret exits, 99 lives, bought all videos from the castle shop etc. 5 sparkling stars on the save file.

I return to this to get all items x99 and my score up to 99.999.999 at certain days in the rest of my life.

And maybe I unlock the Super Guides for each level if it still can be done.

Just be prepared to have another save file for that because you'll lose the sparkling in your stars if you activate it.

Confirmed it myself by making a copy of my own file to test it out.

Yep. I copied the perfect save into the other 2 slots so it won't get erased / lose sparkling accidently by someone.

I have one with all coins and mushroom huts unlocked up.

And one with all coins spend for all movies and all mushroom huts used.

And a third save just for multiplayer mayhem.

Completed the game, found every cannon location, every hidden path. Only thing left to do is to get 5 coins. World 9-4 coin #3, 9-5 coin #3 and 9-7 coins 1-3. I've also unlocked all but 5 tip movies at the castle.

Also, will I get the remaining 5 movies if I get the last 5 coins in world 9? If not, what must I do to get the last 5 movies?

Edit: Nevermind, just got all the coins and unlocked all the movies. Fantastic game!!!

Since I had more time this weekend Ive been playing NSMBW a lot, Im now at my last 3 coins from World 9-7 and am saving this for next weekend.

Edit: Got my extra day off today, so played some and finished the game as complete (unlocked all hidden paths, cannons and coin trailers/movies).
Great game.

My Rating: 9,0 out of 10

I just cracked this open with my family yesterday. We've been playing 3-4 player, and we're now at the beginning of world 3. It's really hilarious! The immense frustration of getting in each other's way is counterbalanced by the fact that you get as many lives and continues as you need.

Yeah, just got this today as well. I sometimes really hate the jumping on each other mechanic but it does come in handy sometimes. Only as far as beating 1-7 but I can tell this will be a fun one.
