Default Reviews/discussions on 3rd Party Hardware for Wii

I was suggesting that the forum also should pay some attention to the 3rd party hardware that is largely sold on Wii.
I don't have any 3rd Party hardware for it, but still am interested in information from others who have.
You can discuss about Cable till Gun as long as it is Wii related.

My question in this thread is that I have seen a nice 3rd Party Wireless Nunchuck, It still amazes me why Nintendo isnt selling these themselves. It could be very handy without cable. Not to forget the classic gamepad when you almost dont need the Wii- mote and still is connected by an irritating short cable.
Do you have some experiences or questions on 3rd party hardware or related materials and could you share some information about it here (like my question) ? Let us all know !

I think there is this awesome third party light gun that is better than the Wii Zapper by far.

I'd get it myself, but what's the point? I don't own any lightgun games.

I have noticed many hardware doesnt even fit anymore because of the Wii motion plus. (that is why you see so much bargain sales on 3rd party products lately). Still I think they will produce newer versions that can connect with it without problems. I go for wireless if it works good and feels authentic.

And you can always disconnect Wii Motion Plus if, for example, you want to use a lightgun attachment, which wouldn't need Wii Motion Plus.

PS You know what game needs to be on Wii Ware? The Point Blank series.

Still I think many games in the future will be making use of Wii MP even those kind of games, so that would be a tiny problem.

I'm still happy with my Nyko-brand Wiimote Charge Station. They've come out with improved models, I hear/see, but mine works just fine, and has since I bought it (at least a year ago, I guess.)

Yeah thats the good thing about load stations, they arent in- game hardware so it would go very far to put those out of date.

You were supposed to charge your wiimotes with it, not charge at it with your wiimotes. Don't worry you'll get it next time.

Im enjoying my Guitar Hero controllers with my Guitar Hero games .
There are better than rockband controllers for one reason that they actally use the Wii Remote wireless not some lame wireless reciever dongle that plugs in the USB port in the back of the Wii .

The only third-party hardware I think I have that I can review is the Hori Fighting Stick Wii.

Hori Fighting Stick Wii

This is a very solidly built arcade stick. It's got a good weight to it, so it stays firm on a flat surface but it's not uncomfortable to play in your lap. The stick is nice and tight and responsive, though I have to admit, I still have to get used to controlling fluid movement with a stick. The buttons are also nice, with a good amount of travel. It also includes turbo fire for all buttons. Overall, this whole thing feels like it was built very well. About as good as you'd expect for a home stick for the Wii, anyway.

If I have one complaint about the stick, it's that it connects to the Wii remote just like a nunchuck does, through that dongle port on the bottom. The cord isn't too short or anything, but they should have included a slot in the bottom of the stick base for the remote. It would be way less distracting if the remote was tucked into the stick and you couldn't notice it wired up and hanging around while playing.

That's really more personal preference but I think having a dongle is much better. With Wiimote Jackets and now Motionpluses, it's a hassle to put the wiimote in guitars and drums. I'd much rather use USB dongles than Wiimotes.

Me i never bothered getting taking advantage of the free condom offer & the condom that came with my Motion plus bothered me so i prefered to be condom free .
And as for the motion plus due to it using up power i only attached it when the game that i be playing needs it .
Yes the motion plus eats batterys & the prototypes apparently swallows them down whole .

No. Lightgun games and most FPS (Red steel 2 doesn't count as it has swordplay so WMP is a given) are unlikely to use WMP because it wouldn't add a whole lot to the game, they rely almost entirely on the sensor bar and occasionally some random waggle gestures. Sure they could have improved gestures with WMP but is it really worth it?

Could be very worth, like when working with more deeply patterns and more layers, sensors can work even more smooth/fast and sharper in games (even on shooters). All tech. related to sensoring makes benefit in time.

For FPS games, the real benefit of the MotionPlus is off screen tracking. The M+ kicks into action if you point off the screen, so it keeps turning properly and variably without getting stuck, stopping, or other slight glitches happening like what sometimes happens in current titles. This something that Red Steel 2 features for gun aiming.

I'd say that this is a huge benefit, so I'm definitely looking forward to future titles hopefully having it at least an optional feature.

Yeah I've seen that too and I was astounded of what Wii Motion Plus can do other than Wii Sports Resort.
Wii Motion Plus is a great enhancement for first-person-shooters. They should have used it for Metroid Prime Trilogy.
