Default Mario Kart Wii In Europe This Year?

Found this at N-Europe.com. Might be interesting...

Quote:
One of our trusted sources has given us some news about the Wii version of Mario Kart.

The game will be shown at this year's E3, which is something that everything expects anyway. What's more is that it will be release this year in Europe. Specific details on the game are still unknown - just the planned release date and the fact that it exists is known - but we will find all that out next week anyway.

Mario Kart for the Wii will be a "replacement" for Super Smash Bros. Brawl in Europe, which will sadly miss Europe this year, and it will be out early 2008 instead. However, this also means that the US will not see Mario Kart until early 2008, and they will be getting Smash Bros. Brawl in 2007. This means that Nintendo fans in both Europe and the US will have something to moan about (they'll have something to be glad about, too....but there will probably be more moaning).

It's just a rumour though, and I never believe rumours to avoid dissapointment. I'll be pretty mad if we don't get Brawl until next year though. I'm so looking forward to that game!

I suppose I'm in the minority then because I could care less about SSBB. I'll be bummed if I have to wait longer for Mario Kart though.

It's a minority of at least 2. I couldn't give a monkey's about Smash Bros. which is something I've said repeatedly on this forum.

Sucks SSBB might not make it, but a MK Wii could easily make up for it no doubt. =D

I'm sure they'll both be great. Have a little patience...it's not like there's nothing else to do while you wait. Plenty of other decent games coming out!

Make that fi...err, maybe?

I'm not sure, I love Mario KartEven Double Dash and I'd love a WFC enabled Wii one, but there's been more Mario Kart iterations than there have Smash, so I'd also love a new Smash Bros soon. And I love Smash anyway!

So win win for me

Not assaulting. Only pointing out

I have nothing against homosexual people at all. For that, refer to "Bush, George W.".

I ain't seen nothing. As pointed out by my esteemed colleague, Mr. McKellan...a father loves his son, a brother loves a brother. There was no intimation of homosexuality in the post at all...

As for you iNma...be VERY careful with what you say about POTUS...you'll end up on the 'list'...

Ok, ok, I'm here for the unrequested, opinions-flattener, make-love-not-war post.

I'm a Mario Kart lover (just to stay on topic with the last posts: there is plenty of free sites full of those vehicles with their wings off, and bumping all one another, you know...), I enjoyed greatly the 2D incarnations of the game, never saw N64 one, and I feel I'm quite rocking at DD and DS.

But I also wait with great expectations for Smash Bros. I wasn't good at Melee, my friends always knock me towards Pluto and nothing I do seems to raise my abilities...oh well, that's anyway a freaking fun game.

Now for some more interesting thought.
I'm not one of those complaining for long development times or delayed released dates. Generally I look at Nintendo as they're putting every effort to make perfect games, so I'm a bit afraid they're doing it a bit too fast, this time.
I don't know why, but I prefer to take this just as the rumour it is.

Actually, I wouldn't really mind as much if we get Brawl a little late, as long as we get Mario Kart. It'll no doubt be a great game, and I actually can't wait for it now, I was just dissapointed to hear it may replace Brawl this year.

How do you think it'll control? Like Excite Truck or using the Remote and Nunchuck?

I think at this point I'd rather they use Remote and Nunchuck as it'd be more accurate to control, but at the same time it could be a lot funner with the Remote tilted on it's side...

Wi-Fi will be awesome too!

I have the feeling there will be multiple control methods, ala Brawl, although maybe without the Classic/GC controller.

It's bound to be Wi-Fi as well. I hope so, and if it is, I hope they fix the problems the DS iteration had. Disconnectors must be severely punished!

They should just award the person who didn't quit all of the points they would have got for winning, and give the quitter a loss on their record. Worked well with Picross...

Picross multiplayer is total garbage.

I think what they've done with Strikers Charged Football was good. You get points anyway, even if you lose.

No you don't...
Loads of times I've been just about to win, the opponent disconnects, and I don't see any points come my way except for the goals. I still lose the 10 points for winning.
There's also absolutely no penalty for quitting, so the only person who loses out is the winner.

As for Picross, the multi-players great in my opinion, and has some of the most fun Wi-Fi features seen on the DS so far.

Read what you wrote..you didn't lose anything. What are you saying? More realistically: you didn't won all the points you were expected; that's totally different, and the politics is just about quitters. If you quit you earn 0 points, if you lose you earn 1 point (plus the goals). As you see, it is as I stated. It may not work, but that's another story.

And about Picross: if you look at the top screen you'll notice that when a player makes an error the box comtaining his name shakes. Well I never won a multiplayer game but I always do 0 errors, while my opponent is continuously making mistakes that help him greatly. So i say that 5 seconds of penalty is ridiculous, there are times when reasoning for more than 5 seconds is the norm; the average player prefers to risk, at bad he will just suffer the 5 secs blackout but then he will be in advantage anyway.

I played a game against a guy who had thousands (and I'm talking LOTS of thousands, like 7000 or 9000 games played), well this guy was making a lot of mistakes, what the hell? I also lose playing wireless with a friend of mine...I make 0 errors, he makes a lot. And also, to let you understand my skill: the first puzzle that took more than 1 hour was puzzle Normal 8-O, while this friend of mine is able to spend more than 1h on easy...

I mean if I'm winning by 3-1 or something, with about 2 seconds left. The opponent is hardly going to score 3 goals in the last couple of seconds, is he? That's the reason they quit in the first place..

How about they get banned from going online for a certain amount of time? :P

Or when you're told the connection quality between you and an opponent, it could also tell you how many times they've disconnected? That way, they'd have a hard time getting any opponents, quite deservedly!

Never experienced a dropping in the connections?
I'm not a quitter at Puzzle League, I just keep on losing connections, I succeeded to finish just one game.

I still think the Strikers method MAY encourage quitters not to quit that much:
it's better to gain 1 point than 0 = it's better to lose than to quit.

Anyway, if one really wants to mess up things (and humans have a natural gift in this), I assure you he will succeed, regardless of any means intentionally put to stop him.

They really should do more worldwide releases. Seems like it's the only Nintendo game to be released that way.

I must be one of the few people who would prefer to get Zack And Wiki over brawl or Mario Kart

I played the original super smash brothers and found it good but not great as for Mario Kart I don’t think any of the 3D game have been good.

The only other games I am looking forward to on the Wii are Mario Galaxy and No More heroes.
