I'd prefer 3 pm Sundays (my time) like we did a couple days ago
Niners play at 10 am vs Minnesota Viqueens!

I'd gladly Brawl you if I'm not tired. As for the subject of the league, it started last sunday.

I wondered when you were going to show up. The first post in the thread has a link to the sync page with race info and such things. It's good if people check it at least once a day in case there are updates.

Hi guys. Quick apology for not turning up for the last league. Unfortunately, new(ish) babies and schedules don't mix well

It's probably best to take me off the list for the time being until Warrick's a bit bigger. Sorry if I caused any disruption. Thanks for the invite though Trapster!

Good, because the next round IS on Sunday. The league started last sunday. That's why it's important to check the sync page. There's a link on the first post in the thread.

I came in second place...I don't know where that puts me in the running since I missed the first race. And I have no way of taking a pic of it either, trap.

Sorry Trapster but I'm officially dropping out of the league now. Every other Sunday I have church stuff going on and the rest of the Sundays I either don't have access to the TV/Wii or I have to do homework or whatever. I'll stop by for some non-league matches if I feel like it/have the time though!

Okay, Tides. Hm. I COULD set the time a little bit later. Maybe an hour or so since people keep showing up late.

Okay, just a reminder, I won't be able to play at this time on Sundays any more, due to school starting in a week. The same time on Friday or Saturday would be fine still, though.

Alright, I'll check with the others if that's okay. But I won't be here for the next race as me and my family is going to Cyprus on the 2nd of October and stays there for a week. I'll still be able to post some due to my brother bringing his laptop with him, though.

For me, the same time on Saturdays will work. My job has me on the streets from 4:30pm to sundown Monday thru Friday, so I would be unable to be free by then. All times are Eastern, btw. Any other time, I'm game!

Hm, it's a delicate balance. If I change the day to Saturday, some others might get problems participating. But the possibility is still there that they can. I'd say that's better than we lose them permanently. I'll need more opinions, though.

And it seems like we all need to help out to get the rest of the participants to show up in time.

Well, with the exception of my previous time frames mentioned, I'm available whenever. I'll keep looking at the sync page and work things out accordingly (with the exception of the aforementioned time frames)

Well, the thing is for me that it'd just be impossible to do it on days apart from your Friday and Saturday. By the time we finish each time it'd be cutting into my school time.

As for you travelling, I'd say wait for you to get back. That way we have more time to rally the other members and work out a good time.

yeah lets take a week's break and we'll see what happens, maybe if we get a big enough field we can restart the points?

It would be cool to have more people, but the folks who've been showing up so far should be rewarded for their efforts in showing up for the previous races. The great thing about a lengthy league is that folks can miss a week here and there and still pick up points for the races they actually do.

If that's the case, we should make this league open to all members, and only the first 12 to jump in at 3 pm (my time) can earn points?

This was what I thought when I decided to make this league.

Hmm. And have it open to all members. While I don't really mind it there's something I'm doubtful about.

As it is now, we have at least 4 people who shows up in time for each race. Which means that a league that's open to all members will benefit us as we'll get points more likely. Just saying.

yeah, that way we can just have fun without worrying about how many people show up and all that, we will need to establish a time period where we decide the championship then reset the points, how about every month or two? then at the end of they year, all the champions can do something like a "pool" where the winner of the championship gets gifted by the other champions or something?

Resetting the points every month or two? I don't really get what you're saying here. Aren't the point supposed to be tallied up?

well, we gotta pick a starting and ending point of the tournament or is it a ongoing points thing? if people join in late, they will have less motivation to join in since they will have 0 points hence, we should make the tournament "accessible" and "desirable" to join.
how about this,
we keep the current day/time
have a season of 8 weeks, Champion is entered for the "Gift Cup"(naming rights for sale! )
new season starts every 8 weeks, Previous champions can play but earn NO points since they're already in, and the points aren't changed (if champ gets 1st, points start at 2nd place. if get 3rd 1st and 2nd and 4th, etc... gets their normal points for their place) that way they can have some fun with others that NEED the points

The "Gift Cup" (naming rights will be decided by a vote or poll?) which should be held annually, Will be a race involving the champions for the past year. (should be 6) all the champions throw in a pool of say 500/800/1000points to gift the Cup champion? (it can be agreed on between the participants)

Oookay. Lemme try to make something out of this. Nvm, I think I get it. I had an ongoing points league in mind, though. We need to discuss this with the other participants. if we do have an ongoing points cup, it's important that as many as possible helps with rallying the others when the rounds starts. And if we simply keep the cup as it is, the same goes for this one when rallying the others and state the importance of checking the sync page.

Well, honestly, I don't really know what would be best. In any case, I don't think we can continue the 'locked in' method of which racers can take part. Having only 4 or 5 people each time for the 'proper' race just really isn't enough. I'm up for whatever you do, as long as you do it on days I can participate :P

Just keep in mind that if we do a Gift Cup™ it may be tricky for some people to be allocated their prize. Much region changing would have to take place, and people would need to use credit cards to buy points from other regions, which some people may not be able to do. It could still work if we put effort into it though

I feel this way too. That's why I tell people over and over again how important it is to check the sync page. Bookmark it if you must. I also send messages to people who haven't been that active.

ok since there may be complications we will just leave it up to the Cup contenders to discuss the prize?

lets keep the points from the past 2 weeks and we're on our 3rd week of our first 8 week season, OPEN to all participants! just be sure to at least make a post here before or after the race.

how does that sound?

I guess it sounds fine. But if we do a race this weekend, someone else has to host it as I'm away. And only I can edit the first post and the thread or whatever. But what do I do with the list of participants?

Dude, I'm going tomorrow, not today.

Edit: Scoreboard updated.

Also, run a round of the MKW league this weekend if you want but for the next one I'll change the day to Saturdays and half an hour later. Be there or be square.

Do your best to participate. More fun with more people.

Guys, I updated the sync page so that now it should show you a couple of different messages in case the "next race" hasn't been decided yet.

If you happen to load the page during one hour after the race has begun, it will alert you that the race is probably on.

When Trapster isn't hosting, remember to send me a PM with the time of the next race; that page can't update by itself.
