This topic is hard to comment on...Wii will suffer if third party developers won't jump on the wagon...past Nintendo systems all over again...let's hope the VC will keep it alive

Maybe they'll come back to reason and give us some better games on their own...like they did on past consoles.

^ Even if it was over for the Wii, Nintendo is not over. If Nintendo wants to get out of this "hole", start getting developers of games that appeal to the mature audience.

Take for instance Ghostbusters, this game looked to draw in a large crowd, especially the fans who grew up with the movies and cartoon shows. However, after taking a look at screen shots and seeing what little video's there are out there, all I can see is a game that looks like it was developed by children.

Bring on games like DOOM and Metal Gear Solid. Enough with these party games and sports titles involving Mario, Sonic, etc. You want to remain successful? Get some titles that don't suck!

I'm quite pleased that Nintendo is hitting some problems. Its dangerous to have one company dominating seemingly without even having to try anymore and Nintendo is the worst of the big 3 for treating its customers with contempt and ignoring their issues when its at the top of its game.
I much prefer the Nintendo who has to scrap and impress for my money to the Nintendo who makes baffling statements about "Geeks and Otaku" and ridiculous comments about their being no 2nd hand book market.

What Beta said, I and many others aren't not liking our Wii' very much right now, and Nintendo doesn't care at the moment, if someone else starts catching, they'll have to start caring about thier fanbase.

This.

Also, let's all remember, that if Nintendo ever runs into real trouble with the Wii, they could just cut it loose and survive on DS/i sales alone.

Oh please, sales will boom again with wii sports 2 and the overly priced motion plus. Nintendo haven't had an real big hitters the last couple of months (Mad world isn't really a big hitter) so it's no surprise that sales are dropping.

Hopefully this will be enough for them to finally reduce the price of the Wii though, there's no way that it still warrants it's £180 price tag when the top end Xbox 360 Elite is only £20 away.

2010 looks to be a promising year with Super Mario Galaxy 2, Metroid Other M, the new Zelda and a black console package. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come.

Yeah, Zelda, Metroid and Mario will make 2010 a booming year for Ninty again...that way they can slack for 2011 before the big unveil of the next generation for 2012 (all guesstimations of course)

From what I can see the Nintendo doesn't need the Wii to make money in Japan. The DS is everywhere and owned by everyone.

If you see less than five people playing them on your average subway trip then its a slow day. It's quite common to see family groups walking along the streets playing one each!

Working at Nickelodeon Universe at the Mall of America, I see groups of kids with DS's daily. A lot of the tourists put them in the loose articles area on my rides. You would think that going to an amusement park for the day would take away the necessity for playing a video game, but I guess the DS is just that awesome!
