| What are the only two things here that need more lovin' than Alex? Marvelous Entertainment and XSEED! Who Are They? Marvelous -- Developer of Harvest Moon series. Marvelous -- Publisher responsible for No More Heroes in Japan and Europe. XSEED -- Localization expert responsible for publishing whatshouldabeen Japan-only games in North America. XSEED -- Publisher that has teamed up with Marvelous to try to localize Japan-only games like Fragile, Sky Crawlers, and more! *Important note: Rising Star is another publisher directly connected to Marvelous Entertainment. Europeans owe them some love because they're responsible for bringing some games to Europe. 09 Wii Games? ![]() Muramasa: The Demon Blade Published by: NA -- XSEED/Marv. EU -- Rising Star. Release Date: NA -- est. July 09. EU -- est. Nov. 09 ![]() Rune Factory: Frontier Published by: NA -- XSEED/Marv. EU -- Rising Star. Release Date: NA -- March 17, 2009. EU -- est. Oct. 09. ![]() Arc Rise Fantasia Publisher: NA -- XSEED/Marv. EU -- Rising Star?? Release Date: NA -- TBA 09. EU -- TBA *This game has not been confirmed for a release date in Europe but it would make sense for Rising Star to continue the trend and publish the game. ![]() Little King's Story Publisher: NA -- XSEED/Marv. EU -- Rising Star. Release Date: NA -- May 09. EU -- TBA 09. People want third parties to step up? Well they are! Here's four amazing looking games from the same little connection of publishers all scheduled for 2009. There's no two publishers around working harder to bring Wii owners some great games. Let's hope our support is enough to bring Fragile to NA and Europe! |

| Lakitu | Already fairly much set on getting Rune Factory: Frontier after some previews on IGN and it being Harvest Moon (great) with combat (awesome!), as well as Little King's Story. Hadn't heard of the others, but they look interesting |

| Do you like my helmet? | Muramasa looks good! The others look.............. That aside, though, I think it's nice that these guys are trying to bring different / unique games to the Wii. There are certainly people out there who are starving for this kind of game. |

And then Little King's Story is a RPG/RTS being made by a group of some of the most talented developers in gaming, so that'll be another instant purchase. Quote:
And then like Harvest Moon, I don't think graphics will play a huge role in Rune Factory. Same goes for Little King's Story. All four of those games are types of RPGs though, so yeah there are some RPG-loving Wii owners that can't wait for these. Yeahp, XSEED published Retro Game Challenge in North America!

| The only one I am remotely interested in is The Demon Blade.

Muramasa looks good right from the get-go, though, which is why I immediately excluded them from my ellipsis-heavy doubts in my first post. Visually attractive, nice theme/style, and a tried and true predecessor that they've already stated they're going to try to improve on (Odin Sphere).

Little King's Story is like a RTS/RPG mix, Rune Factory is a RPG/Sim, and Muramasa is a Action/RPG mix although the developers haven't shown off the RPG parts. The only true RPG, per say, is Arc Rise Fantasia. And from what I've gathered, it's not just a wannabe. Some people are under the impression the Tales of Symphonia series is over, and the developers from that series are working on this one. Apparently Symphonia 1 and 2 didn't sell enough so they're seeing if people like this series more. Which would explain why Tales 2 had so many new people working on it, because some had already migrated to this new game. I have high hopes for it anyway. As for Muramasa improving on Odin Sphere, Rune Factory is supposed to be an advancement in the series from the DS games, which have both scored decent. So if this game is an improvement, it'll really be a nice treat for Wii owners who like the Sim/RPG Harvest Moon type thing. I think all these games have promise, especially since they're all backed by talented developers, so I'm hoping they all turn out great. Personally these four games might be the top-four I'm looking forward to, at the moment. I understand not everyone sharing my enthusiasm so far ahead though, but I have a really good feeling about these games, and if they turn out decent I hope everyone gives them a chance. | I'm only interested in Murasama myself, and Arc Rise Fantasia looks painfully generic. And I never was a Harvest Moon fan, the game seemed like all of the BORING parts of Animal Crossing, but at least HM fans will be happy. BTW, all these 2 companies did is localize a bunch of mediocre games (except Retro Game Challenge and No More Heroes)... Why do THEY need saving? ... Free Radical HAS BEEN SAVED! |

| Do you like my helmet? | They are developers and publishers. They don't need "saving"—they need support... unless we just want generic mini-game collections to proliferate even more than they already have. I may not have passionate interest in many of the games listed in this thread already, but I think more variety and more attention to quality in these RPG subgenres is important for the Wii's software library. |

Besides, none of these RPGs are going to be great EDIT in my opinion. Last edited by Refa; 15th February 2009 at 02:25 AM.

Maybe you're right and none of these RPGs will be great, but I'd take any one of them over Imagine Horsez, and a lot of people will buy them just because they're cartoony RPGs. Are you trying to argue that none of these games will be great therefore they shouldn't be released? Because that's just silly.

...But seriously, I don't want a run of the mill RPG on the Wii that is pretty much a PS1 game with better graphics. They made the Wii mote for a reason, and damn, they should use it! I saw this cool import RPG from Monolith, and that's the kind of RPG I personnally would prefer on the Wii.

Let's pray all developers stop making games because Sega is doing enough for everyone. And let's hope these games stay in Japan, because your crystal ball says they suck. Absolutely disgusting. I've had enough of this.

| Fine with me, it's just my opinion anyways. I could be wrong, and if they are, in fact, good games, I may get them, but for know, I choose to remain skeptical (especially about the control scheme). Look at how good DoaNW was. |
