Default PAL The Conduit will run in 60hz

Just had an update via Nintendolife from somone claiming to have spoken with Sega Europe and they confirm that unlike Madworld, the Conduit will support 60hz for its PAL release.
Of course its not direct from the horses mouth but thought PAL users might want to hear this is if, like me, your hovering over ordering it.

Yay! Hopefully this is the start of a continuing pattern...

Eh, pardon me if I'm wrong, doesn't like all the games since the GameCube era have support for 60 Hz? Maybe not all, but most of them ask if you want to play in 60Hz mode when you start them.

I think you're probably right, but Betagam was concerned with a specific precedent set by a specific company (Sega and Madworld). So if that company isn't making the same mistake again (as could be reasonably expected of them), that's nice.

MadWorld only ran in 50Hz?!? Like Joxe I thought just about every game fetured 60 Hz in Europe nowadays.

Since Sega were the first company to introduce the 50/60Hz options (on Dreamcast) and to make it a standard, and have been one of the best publishers for supporting it since, I'm surprised this is the case with Madworld. Just like the VC 50Hz I can't think what the reason is.

As others have already respinded Madworld has borders, runs 17% slower, squashed picture and 50hz only. The developer has alledgedly blamed Sega for forcing them to rush the game onto shelves leaving them no time to implement optimisation for PAL. Their were then concerns that Sega would do the same with the developers of The Conduit

There are other Wii games that have suffered the same fate. I'll seek them out when I get time and update my PAL VC thread to include disk based releases.

Yes, it is very disappointing since as you say the DC pretty much pioneered this as a standard option (another reason I love the DC so much).
Why they have changed this probably has something to do with who's in charge at Sega these days.

17% slower with a 3D engine? Bleh!
Borders can be present, but going from 60Hz to 50Hz should only lower the FPS roof to 50 instead of 60, not slow the game down. Maybe it's my PC brain that's thinking again.

And I have to correct myself, not every game greets you with the "You want to play in 60Hz mode" question, games like TimeSplitters 2 and Ikaruga are forced to 50Hz, MP:2 - Echoes was 60Hz only on the other hand.

...PC owns (for the record)

I think you're right, I'd be very surprised if it actually runs slower. The NTSC version is also reported to have borders, I think some people are confusing problems caused by 50Hz with problems (or design features, I don't know because I haven't played the game) that exist anyway.

I dunno though, if the game is as graphically "advanced" as the developer say it should be it shouldn't even reach a steady 50 FPS in most of the situations, this should mean that the PAL version isn't restricted in any way. Except a bit lower frame rate due to the higher resolution.
