So how well does a GC controller work with VC games? I'm tempted to get a few VC games that require either a classic or gc controller. I'm not in a position to pick up a classic at the moment so was thinking of using my GC controller instead.
Is it ok? cheesy? sweet? ~V

Having said that, some games (notably the DKC games) have really awkward button layouts on the GC controller, but these are often reported in the review comments and forums here, so just have a quick check of the review comments before you download to make sure. I haven't had any problems at all yet, but I've not downloaded DKC for that very reason. I would say hold onto your hard-earned for now unless you really want to play DKC. A classic controller or 2 N64 games? An easy choice for me.

My Gamecube controller was made by GAME ES (Game España) which is basically a store. But because its not official it doesnt work with any VC games
which i think sucks. For that reason i had to buy a classic controller. Im glad i did since its a great controller. So if you have an official GC controller go for it and get the games i guess but i cant speak from experience.

Gamecube controller is best for N64 games, classic controller is best for everything else.
I personally don't like using an analogue stick when the game was designed for the d-pad, and like people said some SNES games are almost unplayable with the GC controller. But it's better than nothing. |

Thanks for the info. I'm not in a rush to pick up a CC but just might cause I enjoy the wireless aspect of things. Glad to know the GC controller will work fine for the most part (I have 2 GC's and 2 MadCatz controllers).

Except NES, I think, it's a little awkward with the button layout for it. (Just think SNES-Button usage VS. NES Conif on the classic controller, y and b are the main buttons, not a and b).
