| I highly recommend Monster Lair and Rolling Thunder 2. Just got them and they're great (and a bit difficult) games with 2-player support. Thank god for the infinite continues (ML requires a cheatcode and RL2 uses some funny passwords). |

| I would recommend Shining Force1 i have never heard of that game until it came out on VC, i decided to give it a try and was promptly hooked as I'm a RPG type.. i found that style really interesting, with multiple characters so i could devise an attack and defend strategy. one thing I also liked was that the main character can "exit" the battle and every member of your party keeps all the experience, etc.. and you start the battle again with a refreshed party and a clear strategy to win. only thing is that your strongest characters can build levels at unbeleveable paces compared to your healers and other weaker characters so dont forget about your weaker characters. your top 3 alone can sometimes kill the entire battlefield without everyone else getting a chance to get some experience. I am anixously awaiting Shining Force 2.. thatll be an instant download for me.

| I recommend Kirby's Dream Course for minigolf lovers. There are 8 courses with 8 mini golf tracks = 64 minigolf courses + hidden ones. But there's also a twist: you have to hit all the enemies on each course before the last one turns into a hole. And Kirby can also use his powers, so if he hits a special enemy, he can use their special powers, like a floating parasol (umbrella) Kirby, or the sho-ryu-ken-jump-Kirby. The controls are easy but deep enough, so you'll get some definite challenge in the later courses. You have to earn medals and your only competition are scoreboards of characters from the Kirby universe. Try to beat the highest competitor on each course and get gold. But multiple people also can save their own Dream Course membership, and all compete in the same game (Kawashima-like), so the whole game is about competition. There's also a twoplayer mode and a training mode and some hidden stuff. Graphics are just what you expect from a Kirby game but this also adds an isometric checkerboard view. If you want a good strategic fantasy-minigolf-game with great (and challenging) level design, you can't find anything comparable. |

| Bonk 1-3 (3 is the best though). If you like platforming games, then these are musts. Great fun and unique. Loads of cool things to do and all 3 are sizeable quests. Quite challenging in places which is good too. And loads of secrets crammed in all over the place. Basic premise is to run from left to right and sometimes right to left, hitting enemies until you reach the end and/or a boss. Kill the boss and go onto the next world. It's just like any other platformer. More like Super Mario Bros. 1 and 2 and the Sonic games, in the way that there isn't a world map. It's a continuous game. Collect Meat to power up. Find Blue Hearts to extend your life metre. Find Smileys for bonuses. Grow huge to smash things up or shrink down to sneak around (3 only) and have great fun Bonking everything (All 3! All 3 are 600 points and all need to be tryed IMO. Air "ZONK" and Super Air ZONK. Air "ZONK" is 600, SAZ is 800. Both are the same size gameplay wise and feature many power ups to be played with. Basic SHMUP gameplay here, fly left to right shooting everything in your path. Although rather than saving the world/galaxy/universe from evil, you're flying around blasting up what looks like a kids toybox. Unlike most shooters, this allows you to tone the difficulty down. And even then to be fair, hard isn't nightmarishly hard. So it's a great begginners SHMUP and even vets will find some fun here A few secret areas are in hiding and there's always a boss lurking around. Great music and cool visuals make these must haves. Although get AZ first, because SAZ, while good and enjoyable if you're a fan of AZ, isn't as good as AZ IMO.

| I have over 80 VC games downloaded and way too many that I'd recommend to give a decent writeup on each so I'm posting an image of my 5-star games. If you want specifics on any please let me know. |

| Cheep Cheep | Got to recommend: Bonk's Revenge - TG16 - Really, one of the greatest games I've ever played. It's style is just so accessible, and levels are some of the best designed for any platformer. It's really a landmark game for me, as it was a staple at my friends house, who was the only one that owned it. He might have been sick of it, but every time I was at his house I wanted to play it. |

| Bob-omb | Definitely Kirby's Adventure It was the first game I ever beat, ever, and the first game I DLed when I put my Wii online. I'm an artist and I'd be remiss to not cite Kirby's art style as an influence to my own. Since I was a little kid Popstar and it's inhabitants have mesmerized me, and I've owned every single Kirby game ever released. The platforming is solid, the graphics are amazing for the NES and the music will stay stuck in your head for days. Until Kirby Superstar or Kirby's Dreamland 3 are released for the VC, THIS is the one to own |

| I never bought a VC game before, and I'm having a hard time deciding between street fighter II turbo and gunstar heroes. I've played and enjoyed metal slug before, but at the same time I've played and enjoyed King of fighters 2001 and 2000. I know King of fighters and metal slug arn't the exact same as these VC games but there along the right line of gameplay right? any suggestions? |

All I'll say is, are you getting them for multiplayer? If so, SF, if not Gunstar. Because SF has the better multi (And you can take turns in single) but Gunstar is the best for lone gaming. But personally I'd say get Super. Turbo's great, Super's better

| I highly recommend Soldier Blade, this and super mario bros 3 are the only 2 games that i constantly go back to on the vc (sometimes im just too lazy to find the gamecube controllers to play snes games lol) Control - absolutely wonderful, switch between speeds on the fly with select, 1 shoots, 2 fires a special blast (uses one of your powerups) The controls work really well and are very precise. Music - very catchy and very good Graphics - amazing!!! lots of action and explosions and background effects Gameplay - shoot lots of stuff, great bosses, later levels are challenging for experienced players, a 2 minute and 5 minute mode, a hard difficulty. There are three different weapons with 3 different power levels of each weapon, collect multiple of the same item to incease its power, get hit lose a power level, get hit with power level one and die. you have a few lives, yaadaa yaadaa yaddaa PS I want another schmup and i am deciding between three games, gradius 3, rtype 3 and blazing lasers, which should i go with based on what you think is the best game out of the three? |

| I highly recommend Blazing Lazers. I don't think it would be an over statement to say it is one of the best schmups of all time. It is a ton of fun, a good challenge, and has a high replay value.

| IMO Gate Of Thunder is the best bet. Hard but not too hard. 7 levels. Great visuals and music. And amazing weapons system. And lots of things to shoot. What more do you need from a SHMUP?

| Lemmy Koopa | I would have to say Light Crusader. It's a perfect mix of Puzzles, adventure, fighting, RPG, and exploration. I also has amazing music. Each piece goes with the mid evil style game so well. I'm not gonna get into the story much, but your some guy that goes to a own where people have gone missing, and the king asks you to figure out what's going on. You stumble into a underground dungeon, which is where your adventure begins. There is only one dungeon in the whole game, and it has 6 floors. But each floor is about as big as one Zelda dungeon, so it's quite a big dungeon. The gameplay is similar to Zelda, but I prefer this one. So like in Zelda, where you must figure out puzzles to progress through he dungeon, it's the same but the puzzles are much harder. That's the only thing that people should watch out for when downloading this game. If you can't handle the hard puzzles in Zelda, you wont be able to handle the puzzles in this one. You don't stay in the dungeon the whole game, once and a while you will go back up the dungeon and go talk to the king or villagers for hints. You can also buy new weapons, armor, or gloves in the village. Or you can buy different Magic powers. There are 4 different magic powers in the game, but you can combine them, to make 20 different spells. Such as combining wind and fire to make a flying fireball. So there are a whole bunch of different powers you can use. But you have a limited amount of magic. Think of it like items, if you only have 42 pieces of earth, you can only use earth 42 times. So that's when you have to buy some more magic. Or some times after beating enemies, they'll drop a piece of magic. The fighting is pretty basic. There's the normal slash, just like zelda. Or you can jump and Slash. Or you can jump, move forward and slash which make your guy do a dive slash. but that's why you have lots of magic, because your not too skilled with the sword, but the fighting is still fun, and a lot of the enemies are hard to beat. But like Zelda, the game is more focused on the puzzles. BVut the fighting is still good, and the bosses are really fun. Each boss has a different weak spot, so it's a different challenge each time. Graphicly, the game looks pretty good. The characters looks a little dull, but overall it looks great. I'd say there's only a few problems with the game -when you walk a certain way the screen slightly shakes, but you barely notice it. -it's hard to land jumps. The way the screen and lay out is put, it's hard to make perfect jumps. So when you jump you need to look at your shadow. -although the ability to push anything is nice, you can't hold on to what your pushing, so it's harder to push straight. Those are really all the flaws in the game, but other than that the game is great.

| My recommendation is Bomberman,93. Bomberman,93 has a very fun multiplayer battle mode in which up to five players try to blow each other up with bombs, but it's not that simple. There are many power ups that you can find.Power ups can increase your bombs size of explosion, give you the ability to kick bombs at other people or the ability to lay down multiple bombs at one time. While you are searching for power ups you might run into a virus. There are several different viruses that you can get and if you run into another player while you have a virus the other player will get the virus also. The one player mode is also fun. There are several worlds each with eight stages with the eighth being a boss.As in multiplayer there are also power ups but not as many.If you have friends then i highly recommend this game although one player mode is fun the game is much better with friends. |

| Lakitu | There are many, many Virtual Console games I want to recommend since I've bought 56 of them in total, so I'll probably be coming back here fairly often. Gotta explain why Gunstar Heroes, Super Star Soldier, Soldier Blade, Legend of Zelda: LttP, Star Fox 64, and many others are so freaking great, after all. Super Metroid Why You Should Buy It There are only a select few games ever made that can be called technically flawless, and this sidescrolling adventure, Super Metroid, is one of them. On every level it oozes quality: perfectly responsive controls, an enormous world with secrets literally at every turn, loads of diverse abilities for Samus to explore that world and find those secrets, loads of diverse and wonderful music accompanying all the areas of that world, an incredible and haunting atmosphere, and a fantastic balance level that strikes just the right chord between challenge and ease. Merely "beating" the game isn't terribly difficult (but Super Metroid still has at least a few surprises for first-time players even then), but many of the hidden energy tanks, missile upgrades, and other powerups can be real head-scratchers or reflex-testers the first time around. Length-wise, Super Metroid will probably take around six to ten hours for first-timers, so there should be no fear of not getting value for your money. On subsequent replays, most people will drop their times dramatically due to knowing precisely where to go and taking advantage of some of the advanced techniques they may have only begun to use on their first run. For these reasons, it's also highly replayable; in fact, Super Metroid is one of the most popular speedrun games around and many players end up shaving their times down to two hours or less. (And the game itself encourages that, since the best ending requires beating it in under three.) In terms of offering good playtime for your money, Super Metroid is among Virtual Console's best. Types of Gamers Who Should Stay Away -Those who prefer that games tell them where to go. You won't find any of that here, at all. Like the later Castlevanias that took so much inspiration from Metroid (hence, "Metroidvania" <_<), you'll figure out where you can and can't go based on your current set of abilities. -Those without classic controllers. If you don't have four buttons in a diamond-shaped pattern, then seriously, don't even think about Super Metroid. Just don't! D: Even though it does allow custom button mapping, you'll still be ruining a superb game for yourself if you play it with a flawed controller that doesn't suit what it was designed for. | I highly recommend Gradius III, as it is the game I find I am always playing the most. It's a shooter with great graphics, tight controls, and good sound. The configurable power-ups and five difficultly settings (beat arcade to get the 5th) provide a lot of replay value. The different weapons and options really change the way you play the game. Gradius III has a lot of levels, and a lot of secret levels, which provide extra paths for getting through. Unlike a lot of other shooters, the graphics are very "clean". It is always easy to see your ship and the enemies' shots. The developers also had a keen sense of dramatic staging, and the levels are interesting and varied (although similar to other Gradius games). The only real issue with this game is slowdown, but on the harder difficultly levels you will be using it to your advantage |

| Have you ever been playing Mario Kart Wii and your in first place on the last lap then you suddenly get hit by a blue turtle shell, then two red turtle shells, then you get smashed, then shortly after getting hit by someone with star power you get hit by a bullet bill and finally you take last place. In F-Zero X there are no weapons but you can still attack other players, it just takes some skill. The game is also much more challenging than Mario Kart in several ways, for instance the game is much faster then Mario Kart and you have a energy meter and when you run out of energy you blow up.Your energy meter can be depleted in three ways by getting hit by your opponents ,hitting walls or by using boosts.Your energy bar can be replenished by driving in pit zones. There are 30 race machines to chose from, most of which have to be unlocked, five grand prixes, two of them have to be unlocked and four difficulty levels, one has to be unlocked. There are five modes in the game,Grand Prix Race,Time Attack,Death Race,VS Battle and Practice. In Grand Prix mode you race six courses for each Prix and depending on what place you get you get a certain amount of points.Who ever has the most points at the end of the sixth race wins.In Time Attack mode you set records for each race course that you have unlocked. In Death Race mode you try to destroy all the other racers in the fastest time possible. In VS Battle mode you can race with up to four players on any course that you have unlocked. In Practice Mode you can Race any course that you have unlocked. I highly recomend this game the graphics are not so good but the game makes it up with great controls and extremely intense racing plus it has a awesome soundtrack. | Lakitu | One series that Virtual Console introduced me to has a special ability to make my heart ache--because the series seems to be dead in this day and age, even though it was so great. The series in question? Neutopia! Neutopia Why You Should Buy It Let's be clear here: in terms of gameplay Neutopia is a really blatant clone of the original Legend of Zelda. I don't want to spoil anything here, but--seriously, it's really blatant. Neutopia is old-school adventuring at its core, with a reasonably open world map and dungeons where almost all of the challenge comes from the usual minimum four enemies per room rather than puzzle-solving. Is it original? Not a bit. But it's a rarity nonetheless, and seeing puzzles kicked to the curb in an action-adventure setting can be refreshing. To speak briefly about its individual elements: Neutopia's music is mostly enjoyable, Jazeta's sword feels like it has a good reach, the dungeons are very simple but fun, most enemies provide reasonable challenge, controls are just fine, and the world is probably three times the size of the original Zelda. The only negative I can think of is somewhat of a nitpick, which is that hit detection is a little abnormal when Jazeta is facing south. Neutopia puts a hitbox around his entire sprite, so attacks that touch his hair from behind actually hurt--whereas in most other games they wouldn't. It takes a little bit of adjustment, but it's definitely nothing big. Overall, I think that Neutopia outperforms the original Zelda at its own game. Types of Gamers Who Should Stay Away -Those who liked the original Zelda but didn't love it, or just want something that's a little more different. Those gamers should play... Neutopia II Do you see what I said about Neutopia? Yes, of course you do. It's right up there. Most notably, you can now walk and stab your sword in eight directions, which may feel more natural to a lot of gamers. Towns have been added, creating a more structured format with medicine shops and bomb shops having known locations rather than strewn around in random caves. Neutopia II kicks its soundtrack a step way up from its predecessor in terms of catchy quality and I think most gamers will be honestly thrilled. Collision detection is also more in line with the gaming standard, but Neutopia II couldn't quite escape the quirk curse. Magic attacks have a strange knockback effect: enemies will always be hit backward in the direction that your hero is currently facing. For example, if you shoot north and then turn south before your fireball hits the enemy, the enemy will be knocked south--possibly into you! Watch out for that. The overworld is quite a bit more linear than the original Neutopia, but dungeons are larger and more complicated, and bombs play a far stronger role. For example, I found ten bombable walls in the first two dungeons alone. Whether these changes are positive or negative is up to personal taste, but I think that Neutopia II is a powerful sequel that improves upon nearly every element of its predecessor and will last adventure fans another great six to eight hours. Types of Gamers Who Should Stay Away -Those who 1) really loved the original Zelda, and 2) haven't played the original Neutopia first. I think this series should be played in order due to various improvements in Neutopia II. -Those who only want very open and non-linear game worlds. | Do you like my helmet? | Punch-Out!! is a great recommendation. Since you seem to like Mario, you might also try Super Mario Bros. 2. If you liked Double Dragon, you owe it to yourself to give Street Gangs a chance—it's a similar concept, but funnier and more fun. |

It just doesnt seem like it has alot of replay value sense it only has a few levels But on the other hand it looks amazing and the game play looks sweet. So is it worth a download or should i pass? |
