I only have RCR and DD i would recomend RCR because its way easier and has rpg elements. DD is fun to tho i dont kno why u would only want one, get both there only 1000 points all together. But if u want a really good fighter get SS2 or SF.

I don't want a kind of fighter like Street Fighter.
I want one where you walk trough levels and beat up numerous of enemy's.

I see then get River City Ransom that game is what ur looking for. Because when u go co-op both you and ur friend are on the screen fightin with each other. In Double Dragon u take turns playin a level alot like super mario bros. So defentally get RCR its short if you ask me but DD only has 4 levels if i remember right

okay, so I suddenly got the urge to play some an old school fighting game the other day but unfortunately my knowledge of old school fighters is severly lacking, so I was wondering, of many fighters on the VC, which would you refer?
Right now I'm thinking about Samurai Showdown, since I have vague memories of playing back in the day...very vague.

But Street fighter 2 seems mighty tempting as well, and I also remember loving it at the arcade back in the day (unfortunately,I don't really trust my childhood memories since I remember playing primal rage when i was ten and thinking that was the ****)
As for the other fighters, I really have no knowledge of them...

so I gotta ask, whats the best figher on the VC?

I would go with Samurai Shodown 2 i like that game better then street fighter turbo. Mainly because all the characters have more that 3 special moves. Its a good game i just downloaded it a couple days ago i wish i got it sooner

Why not Streets of Rage 2?
RCR: Easy and short.
Ninja Gaiden: Hard and middle.
Splatter: dunno.
DD: Medium and short.

Splatterhouse is kinda easy and short. Fun. But limited.
I Dunno about Splatterhouse 2. I'll probably pick it up at some point.

Thanks for the advice!
I just got Samurai Showdown II and it is awesome. I suck at it, but I freaking love it.

Default 3000 points

I have 3000 points and I'm looking for VC downloads (not Wii Ware)

I have:
Lords of Thunder
Mario 1
Mario 3
Kirby's Adventure
Sonic 2
Super Metroid
Super Castlevania IV
LttP
Galaga '90
DKC
Mario RPG
Mega Man 2
River City Ransom
Wave Race
Excitebike
Street Fighter 2 Turbo

What should I download? Preferably something outside of these genres - maybe something a little different. 2 player with the GF would be nice (i.e. EASY but FUN).

Thanks!

Punch-Out!! is a must have. You may be interested in Mario 2—it's not exactly outside of those genres, but it is an unusual, different Mario game. Pokémon Puzzle League is an interesting puzzle game, which is a different genre. If you're looking for a good, fun strategy / RPG that's not too hard, then Shining Force is where it's at.

You should all download Vectorman and make it the No. 1 selling game on the VC. I'll be doing it soon, and I already have it in every other concievable way.

I can highly recommend Star Parodier. One of the best shooters I've ever played. Don't know about Ys, though.

That's the problem, I could go for both genres right now.
I'm playing through enough RPG's though, so I might just download SP.

Well if you are playing other RPGs right now, you should just get Star Parodier. Playing multiple RPGs at one time can ruin the games.

Ys 1&2 is excellent, you should definitely get it eventually, but since you're playing other RPG's you're right to get Star Parodier instead for now.

Oh no.

Most people are probably going to tell you Shining Force II is better because it has slight tweaks here and there over the first one without changing the original's essential formula.

I happen to think the original game is (slightly) better because I prefer its plot, its characters, and some of the gameplay eccentricities that others don't care for (like not being able to revisit old areas after the end of the chapter).

And now I want some advice from you kind VC sages!

I'm feeling down and in the mood to spend some money on games I probably won't have time to play for a while. But alas, I can't decide which ones! Here are the games I've narrowed it down to:

ActRaiser (800)
Castlevania (500)
Donkey Kong Country (800)
Kid Icarus (500)
Paper Mario (1000)
StarTropics (500)
Art Style: Orbient (600)
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King (1500+)

That's a total of 6200 points, but I'm not going to spend all that. I do have 700 points already, though. What I want from you is a list of what games I should get if I were to spend 2000 points, 3000 points, 4000 points, and 5000 points (separate list for each price range). You can include FFCC DLC as well, if you like.

Keep in mind I have never played FFCC.

Well, seeing as I've only played DKC and Paper Mario I can't help much but I have to just get my word in that Paper Mario is a must. You can't download Super Mario RPG and not this, as it really is the better game.

I already played SMRPG back in the day on SNES, and I have no doubt that Paper Mario is better. I'll get all of these games on my list eventually, this is just to spur me into getting some stuff right now. PM is getting strong recommendations, but it's one that'll be kicked to the backburner right away if I get it because I have other RPGs to finish first.

I'd definitely recommend trying the Donkey Kong County series; they're really fun and unique platformers and the second one is one of my favourite SNES games.

Yes Vectorman is a excellent choice. Other must downloads include Lords of thunder, Super star Soldier, and Sonic 2

I highly recommend StarTropics. It has a few flaws such as the movement (Mike moves like a tank) and its pretty linear for an adventure game, but its such a great game for its wacky story, awesome boss battles, and the whole idea of saving your items for when you need them. Theres also a review mode that lets you go back and do any chapter you have already completed just in case you need a quick refresher. Its ruthlessly hard though, so don't say I didn't warn you.

I played StarTropics back when it was first released but I don't remember how far I got. This would be a "re-get & finish" kind of download for me.

I am really stuck. I don't know which of these I should download. Which should I get first?

- Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (SNES) (900)
- ActRaiser (SNES) (800)
- Mega Man 9 (WW) (1000)

Please note that I love Sim games that include building civilisations etc., in case you're wondering why ActRaiser is on there And my skill level in old-school games is lacking, which is why I'm doubting Mega Man 9.

Oh, and I already have Super Mario 64 DS, but should I still download the original? Note that I have limited points to spend (2200, actually).

If anyone can help, that would be appreciated

I would suggest ActRaiser and Mega Man 9. Even though you aren't great at old games I still think you will enjoy Mega Man if you just keep trying.
