Belmont's Quest?

This is better than Castlevania (NES) and Super Castlevania IV (SNES) isn't it?
I mean, this is more like the Playstation games with rpg elements and such?

Thanks for that Dazza, I watched it months ago but that brought it all back.
You should put that up for the video on the site

I don't care what the Angry Video Game Nerd says. I'm getting Castlevania II: Simon's Quest as soon as it comes out.

Ok so one thinks this game is bad.

But apart from the AVGN review, this Castlevania game seems to have more depth and variety than the original and Super IV. It seems to me that it's not just a action/platformer but an adventure with rpg elements.

cant await a proper review.

Hmmm, I never played this one before, think I will wait for a review till I drop 500 Wii points on this.

Just to be clear here: Even though the AVGN has reviewed it, it's probably the best game out of all the ones he's done. It's not absolutely terrible, but it's not very good either.

The most glaring fault is the horrible translation, some NPCs that gave out useful tips in the JP version give out meaningless, useless info that makes no sense whatsoever in the English one, leaving you clueless as to what to do sometimes (Such as the thing the AVGN mentioned - Ducking at the cliff for 10 seconds while wearing a certain item).

Yes, from what I can gather, this game is disliked for two main reasons. Firstly, it shakes up the format of the games, and franchise fans don't always like that. And secondly, the translation is so bad it almost cripples the game. I'd hope that the VC release fixes the latter.

After seeing that review. It's pretty pointless.

Plus I can get Super Castlevania 4 and the first Castlevania which are both far better than this.

Double the pointlessness.

I like this game and it was one of my favorites to play when I was a kid, still it is harder than it needs to be because the translation just sucks. If Konami took the time to retranslate it the game would be better. I had to resort to a hint book back in the 80s for this one because the translation is so bad that none of the clues you receive make any sense. Other than the translation issues it's a fun game.
