| This may have been common knowledge among you avid forum goers here but I just discovered that fact today. I remember playing the Megadrive version back when I was kid and I could never beat it. Got close a few times but my skills weren't as sharp as they are today. I randomly started thinking about how I would love to give it another go only to find out that it probably won't be coming coming to the VC at all. Anyone know of a licensing loophole i.e. DKC? (I know wishful thinking...)

| licensing loophole? DKC contains characters(exept Diddy and some others which are "made" by Rare) owned and "made" by Nintendo back in the early 80s. No Donkey Kong game ever will appear on XBLA or similar download services. They will stay with Nintendo consoles as long as Nintendo keeps the DK trademark. Battletoads on the other hand is highly unlikely to appear on VC as it was developed by Rare. They(or better: Microsoft now) also own the rights to the Battletoads games so I guess they probably will appear on XBLA someday(hopefuly....would be better than uber-crap like Wing Commander Arena). |

| I'm not entirely sure, but in the Banjo-Kazooie article, a former rare employee (or so he said) stated that Nintendo forever owns the rights to games they published prior to Rare's switchover. This includes Banjo and DK64, but Rare published games like JFG. So if Nintendo published Battletoads, it's entirely possible to see it come around for VC. |

| Tradewest published all Battletoads games. The arcade one was published by EA. |

| Well see thats what I was hoping for that maybe someone else owned the rights to Battletoads and Rare just developed it for them. But it was just wishful thinking on my part cause I love the games.

| Goomba | Well, Rare is making a couple of games for the DS. Viva Pinata and Diddy Kong racing. |

| Lakitu | Luckily, I have the Gameboy port of the original Battletoads, Battletoads in Ragnarok's World, as well as the original Gameboy Battletoads too. Great, great games.
