Yes.

Final Fantasy II, Japan only. Final Fantasy IV released on SNES in NA as Final Fantasy II, rereleased on VC as Final Fantasy II again (part of Nintendo's "exactly the same as the way it was" policy, no doubt—maybe Square just didn't want to slap the Japanese title screen on it).

Okay cool, thanks for clearing that up. I always get that damn FF numbering thing screwed up. I knew for sure that FF VI here was III in Japan, but I always get the IV and II thing confused

I guess the best way to remember the numbering is to just double it. So II X 2 equals IV and III X 2 equals VI.

Troof! Typo!

Was the "NA" FFII released in Europe? If not, then you mean FFII here was FFIV in Japan!

Achakabatamon!!

Yes, I meant FFII here (where you are) (in NA) is FFIV in Japanolando.
Not here (where I am) (in EU)! No no! We got no FFII! And no FFIV!
And no FF, and no FFIII, and no FFV and no FFVI.

But we (in EU) had Mystic Quest Legend (SNES), and maybe that was the first Final Fantasy game we had in EU, I dunno. At least it's called Final Fantasy Mystic Quest in NA I think.

And we got Mystic Quest (GB), but that was the first Seiken Densetsu (Secret of Mana) game. To make all confusion clear it's called Final Fantasy Adventure in NA.

Good God SKTTR and JoYo, I was confused a little before, but now I'm blown away....so to clarify:

Final Fantasy II (NA) is Final Fantasy IV (Japan)
Final Fantasy III (NA) is Final Fantasy VI (Japan)

Is that correct?

Final Fantasy I, II, III, IV, V, and VI are not in your region, SKTTR? What a shame!

Well, now they are, as GBA and DS remakes.
But Europe never got the original ones for NES and SNES.

Europe never got Earthbound.
Europe never got Chrono Trigger. (Only the DS remake last year)
Europe never got Super Mario RPG. (Only on VC 2 years ago)
Europe never got Ogre Battle. (Only on VC 1 year ago)
...and dozens of other quality RPG's NA got.

Isn't it a shame?

And the only SNES RPG exclusive we Europeans got and can be really proud of is Terranigma.
A fantastic game, but it's so great that I wish NA got it too.

I'm disturbed, even though it doesn't affect me personally, that EU gets the shaft on these games. Do the game makers not realize the number of gamers that would increase their sales over there? Or is it just a smaller niche market as compared to NA and JP?

A smaller niche market - since out of these 4 Hanabi games
I'd only buy Milon's Secret Castle and Ironclad. Even the
old Lode Runner is something I consider a decent classic.
Is the TG Castlevania really that good? Damn hype with
each and every Castlevania game I say.

No. I think it was just a little too early for Nintendo/Konami
to release Castlevania Rondo of Blood since we (EU) got
Castlevania The Adventure ReBirth 2 weeks ago.

Castlevania The Adventure ReBirth ranks #2 in the German
WiiWare charts, only topped by #1 Mega Man 10.

And after all, it's just delayed a week or two until Rondo
comes. Castlevania fans are lucky Wii owners.

NA doesn't have any real Hanabi festivals. We just get random imports from time to time.

Why did Europe and Australia have to wait until Easter to get Super Mario Kart on VC? I was waiting from the begining of '09 for Nintendo to re-release it. Then I get the news that it was released in the US and Japan, but not Europe and Australia. I now have it, but I almost died waiting.

Yeah, I guess buying a Super Nintendo is out of the question. If you really "almost died waiting", you should've just gotten a SNES and a copy of Super Mario Kart, both of which will run you about $50. More expensive than VC? Yeah. But I'm sure you could forgo $50 if it was a life threatening situation.

Well, I followed the TOP 20 VC charts on the (German) Wii Shop Channel, and Mario Kart 64 was always in the #7 - #15 section. There was no need to hurry up releasing Super Mario Kart since poeple were still buying heaps of Mario Kart 64. Now Super Mario Kart being released is maybe a mixture of Mario Kart 64 sinking in sales (well, at least not in Germany) and fan pleasing.

Coz it's the usual procedure!
What do you think?
An article on NL and everything changes??
This was just needed to make people alert.

It's up to the individuals now.
Go spam Nintendo already with mails, calls and letters,
and demonstrate in front of their main entrance,
or get yourself connected with Nintendo in the newspapers and speak out loud.
I think that would help the situation.
