We've all played them. They were the games we had so much hope for. Especially in the earlier days (NES) when the concept was still slightly fresh. Games based on movies is an awesome concept. When we were children, these games were the ones we had so much hope for. I mean, come on, what is better than a video game based on your favorite movie? These games had so much potential, but most of them just plain suck.
However, there were a few that got through development pretty decently. Sometimes these franchises were handled by good programmers. Unfortunately, we most likely won't see many movie based games on the virtual console due to legal issues, but, if you could have just ONE movie game, which one would it be? Also, feel free to name other movie games you'd like to see and/or ones you'd like to see stricken from the records of video game history! My pick for best movie based video game: BATMAN (NES) Folks, it's one of my favorite games of all time. It's got some of the best graphics on the NES, it's music could inspire a movie yet alone be based on one, and the challenge is oh so perfectly balanced. Other honorable mentions: Jaws (NES) Ghostbusters (SMS) Aladdin (GEN) Gremlins 2 (NES) Who Framed Roger Rabbit (NES) Jurassic Park (GEN) Terminator (SGCD) I'm sure there are plenty more, but I'll leave those up for you to decide. So grab a controller and a bag of popcorn, it's time for so movie games! Last edited by shinobiman; 26th February 2008 at 06:42 PM. |

Predictably, Goldeneye.
Also, while not actually based on a movie (although it should have been!), Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis was superb. Last edited by kelvingreen; 26th February 2008 at 07:47 PM. |

I think that everyone, including myself, are going to say GoldenEye. I would also like to see the 2D Batman games though.

I wouldn't pay 1 wii point for Goldeneye.
I'd love to see Gremlins 2: The New Batch for the NES released on the VC. That coupled with Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Friday the 13th. Man, that would be great. And, for the N64, Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine. |

The old batman games were tits. I loved aladdin and Jurassic park for genisis too.
I want to see a PROPER 'Alien' game, that actually works well. Though i did like the old 2D arcade version of Aliens vs Predator. |

Well that is without question "Silent Hill" (2006).
Close runner up: "Mortal Kombat" (1995) |
