I was pretty close to getting this one. I was biking to the nearest electronic store with $30 in my pocket ready to get a 2000 point card. I was in the games section, ready to grab a points card when I remembered that I said I was done wasting money, and that I was gonna start saving money again. And then there I was, only two days after I said I was gonna a start saving, I was already ready to waste it. I was sick of myself, in two weeks I spent $40 just on wiiware, and I was ready to raise it to $60. I admit, I was addicted to Wiiware. After I got four new games in two weeks, I already wanted more, And I was ready to spend $20 to get Toki Tori, and maybe some DLC (MLAAK) To be honest I thought that would just be wasted money, and i was only buying a points card because I was acting like a greedy little kid who wanted more more more.

So I walked out of the store, and went to the nearest bank, and put all of my money in there, so now I know I wont waste it.

That's very strong of you. My situation is kind of the opposite. I've been denying myself for a long time because I've been kind of strapped, but after picking up this second job this summer I've decided to treat myself a little...

... with Toki Tori today. I'll post some impressions in whichever of these multitude of TT threads comes up when I've played a bit more.

Man, this game is cute. I love the music and the graphics. They're very cute and appropriate, lush but not distracting. I just made it to the Creepy Castle last night (I've only been playing on and off, which suits this game amazingly well).

Game play is very easy to get the hang of. I've been playing with the Wii remote, and sometimes precision directions are a bit sketchy (I haven't tried the other control schemes yet to see how they work), but I know that's just because I'm sitting at a weird angle and being lazy about my aim. The controls are actually amazingly easy and intuitive.

The level design is interesting, and I could definitely see how a second player drawing on the screen would be helpful. I've had to redo a couple levels a few times just to make the mistakes and see where I'm supposed to be going. I also did the first "hard" level (which unlocked when I made it to the Castle), and it was indeed a little bit trickier. As the game progresses, I can see them becoming very sneaky with level design.

Anyway, it's perfect as a pick-up-and-play kind of game, because it keeps track of your progress through every level, so you can stop and start where you left off at will. I'm really enjoying it, and I suspect it'll last me quite a long time.

I have a question, though... I keep hearing that it has 70 levels. Are those just the numbered levels, or does it also include the silly little "New Item!" intro levels and the transition screens between areas (like the little zone that led to the Creepy Castle that wasn't a puzzle at all)?

Dang, after downloading Phantasy star ll, I made sure that I kept the remaining wii points, but 20 minutes after I downloaded it, I gave the shop another visit and got toki tori.

I;m on level 8 in the castle stage, and it's lots of fun. I love the music, and the graphics. Some levels are more challenging than the others, but every level is always fun.

It is including the new item stages and transitions. However, without those, there are 69 stages, so it's still almost correct

Thanks for the response!

However...? That means there must be more than 70 stages? Since I've already played a transition and I think 2-3 new item stages.

Not sure what you mean, but:

-There's 40 normal stages
-There's 29 hard stages
-There's ??? item stages (About 9 or 10 I think)
-There's 4 transition stages

Should I buy this, or all of the Bonk games?
