Good thing I live in US.

Anyway, I'm still keeping the theory until later on. And shoemaker, here is a magical all-Nintendo-knowing-world for you:

I'm convinced the "surprise" everyone has been worked up about was the Metroid Prime Preview Channel.

Why?

Reggie's exact quote while being interviewed at E3 regarding WiiConnect24 was "a surprise is coming, by the end of September." The last update we received via WiiConnect24 was the Metroid Channel and we received it in late August, which was "by the end of September." It also was an unannounced update and therefore "surprising." September came and went with no new WiiConnect24 updates, so I'm pretty certain the Metroid Channel was Reggie's big "surprise."

by the end of September... isn't that September 30? Anyhow, he came through by releasing two Japan-only games on October 1, which is of course, the end of September.

Umm my blue light was not on for these Japan only games. They were standard VC releases like we get every Monday. The surprise was mentioned specifically regarding WiiConnect24. VC games do not hit your Wii through WiiConnect24.

"By" does not mean "at". If your teacher gives you a homework assignment and says hand it in by the end of the month and you finish it that day and turn it in the next, then you've satisfied the requirements, correct? Same thing here. Reggie gave himself a large window. "By the end of September" means anytime from E3 until the end of September. We got the Metroid Channel through 24Connect by the end of September and it was a "surprise" because no one knew it was coming.

Getting 2 new games on Monday isn't a surprise because we always get games on Monday. Plus these games are available in Europe. It was only a matter of time before they came out over in North America too.

Bah, true.

That second paragraph made me feel like an idiot. You should be a lawyer.
