Default Tempted to pick one up

Rather this than a PS3 for my money. Can anyone recommend any bundles currently available. Want at least 3 of the following Halo 3, Orange Box, BioShock, PES3, PGR3. Happy for recommendations as well.

I would recommend considering the downsides to the 360. I got mine in Xmas '06 and it got the 3 red rings about 3 weeks ago, (obviously) stopping me from playing it and the games my parents had bought me for Xmas for it I considered getting an Elite and trading in my old one once it was fixed, hoping that the problems in the first 360's were fixed by Microsoft - some chance. I searched online and found out that the same problems existed and decided to get the PS3 instead (40Gb with 2 games for £299) and at the moment I'm enjoying it a lot more than I ever enjoyed the 360, and I'll probably trade in my 360 soon (once Microsoft actually send me a box to put it in).

But if you're set on a 360, it's still a great system but I've heard somewhere that it has a 50% fail rate. Best games for it are probably Halo 3, BioShock, The Orange Box and Call of Duty 4.

Just wanted to give some input

Thanks for your input gents - though sticking with a 360 I think. Have a mac and don't particularly enjoy pc / mac gaming and not interested in anything bluray...but if you can come up with a decent argument, I'm here to be convinced!

Any 360 bundle info still gratefully received of course!

Get the 360. I've finally started playing mine a bit, and strangely enough it's beginning to feel more and more like the spiritual successor to the DC, which can't be a bad thing. And the reasons to buy a console should always centre around one argument, and that's the quality of the games (particularly the ones exclusive to that console). 360 hands down then.

I bought mine at Virgin Megastore (or zavvi or whatever they're now called) and got a Premium bundle with 4 games (GOW, BioShock, Forza 2 and PES3) for £250. Friggin bargain, I thought...

Besides, PGR3 is now available for £7 used at the local GAME here in Canterbury. I know because I just bought it...

I just got me a 360 too.

Halo Special Edition Bundle (HDMI, 20GB) with PGR3, Gears of War and Halo 3.
But currently I'm more playing the Ace Combat 6 Demo.

Cost me £315 with VGA-Cable.

And that gentlemen is all I wanted to hear!

iNma - great stuff as usual and ZueriHB - you are indeed a welcome addition to this place, had nothing but great stuff from you as well!

Thank you both.

I'm tempted by the 360 but I want to resist it until it's much cheaper first. Live Arcade looks good, and there are a few games on there that I really want but I'm put off by all the stories of hardware failiers and wasn't a big fan of the first Xbox. I'd buy a 360 over a PS3 as things stand but I'll just stick with Wii/DS for this generation for now.

The 360 really is a fantastic console. Dare I say it until Mario Galaxy came along I played it more than the Wii!

Xbox Live Arcade has had some stunners such as Castlevania SOTN, Geometry Wars, etc - In addition to that there are great games like Halo 3 and Project Gotham 4. Most genres are well catered for.

The new year is looking good too. Ninja Gaiden 2, Devil May Cry 4 and Resident Evil 5 are all games you won't see on the humble Wii.

Anyway this isn't a fanboy rant because I wouldn't be without the Wii either, but as someone who can't be bothered messing about upgrading PCs and thinks the Playstation 3 is a big waste of space I have to say the Xbox 360 is a winner.

The Achievement system is genius too! Microsoft really understand the gamers mentality to show off their skillz!

At around £200 for a premium pack these days you just can't go wrong!

The closest I got to getting a X360 was when they announced Sensible World of Soccer for XBLA, but I just can't justify getting one for that alone, or for any reason, really. Too unreliable, and the games library is rather weak if you're not into first person shooters.
