My guess would be never. But if it is ever released, it won't be a for a long time... at least long enough that Nintendo doesn't think they're making enough money off the originals. SMB, SMB2, SMB3 and Lost Levels are all on the VC individually right now, and that adds up to 2100 wii points as opposed to the 800 that All-Stars would cost. Not only that, but a few of those games are consistently in the VC's top-20 sellers list.

I still wouldn't put it past Nintendo to release All-Stars after the other original games have dropped from sales rankings. In a few years, maybe.

So yeah, if you don't want to wait years for All-Stars, then you've got the originals on the VC right now.

My ideal way for them to distribute this is to offer it only to those who have downloaded all the Mario games for the NES. If you have, then All-Stars would be available in your shop channel for 800 points. This way Nintendo still makes money on the NES titles and those who want to the option to play All-Stars can still get it.

It'll probably never happen, but it could in theory since the shop channel always knows what you've downloaded.

Why does everyone want All Stars anyway? I own that game and to be honest with you, I prefer the NES games.
