Default Still worth buying a DS?

I sold my PSP so I could buy a Nintendo DS. But is it still worth buying a DS, because it was released like 4 years ago. So I don't want to buy it to play with it for a year... So does somebody knows when there is a new DS/Gameboy coming. And should I still buy it or not?
Please Help!

I sold my DS because it was the old kind so I could get the DS lite, and I'm very happy I did so.

There's lots of games still coming out, and the DS still has a very good amount of games, it's my favorite console. Coming out soon there's Sonic RPG and Guitar Hero On tour, and those both look like very good games. And I already have 20 games I would love to get already, and I've had a DS for three years.

so I think it's a good deal.

I think it's worth it for a couple of reasons. The DS Lite re-design has only been available since 11 June 2006 in North America, which is less than 2 years. Also, it's relatively inexpensive (if you look hard, you can find almost brand new ones for under $100). Like Shoe said, there are a lot of games for this system in almost all genres, so even if it gets the bump by a new portable system within the next couple of years, you haven't invested much money and there are a lot of games to make it worthwhile.

There are no other Nintendo handhelds announced at the moment, it's impossible to know when one will be announced but given the popularity of the DS and having no direct competition (the PSP is essentially a different product) I doubt there'll be a replacement any time soon. It's worth it, and as Shoemaker and Jogurt say even if it is replaced there are enough games to last you for years anyway.

Thanks for the answers guys, but I don't know if the ds is gonna last long because, there aren't much games announced for it. And also all of nintendos franchises have been released like: Zelda, Mario, Metroid, Mario Spin-offs, Pokemon, Donkey Kong and I'm sure I'm forgetting a few.....
So which are to come??

The following games & software--amongst others--are currently scheduled to come out before the end of 2008:

Arkanoid DS, Bangai-O Spirits, Bleach: Dark Souls, Crash Bandicoot: Mind Over Mutant, Crash: Invasion of the Bandicoot Snatchers, Digimon World Championship, Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, Drivers Ed Portable (educational software, not a game), Etrian Odyssey II: Heroes of Lagaard, Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift, Gauntlet, Ghostbusters The Video Game, Guitar Hero: On Tour, Harvest Moon: Island of Happiness, Izuna 2: The Unemployed Ninja Returns, Legend of Spyro: Darkest Hour, Lego Batman, Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures, Madden NFL 09, Mega Man Star Force 2: Zerker x Ninja, Mega Man Star Force 2: Zerker x Saurian, Monster Lab, Mushroom Men: Rise of the Fungi, My Weight Loss Coach (educational software, not a game), N+, Pipemania, Prince of Persia (working title), Puzzle Quest: Galactrix, Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution, Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood, Space Invaders Extreme, Spectrobes: Beyond the Portals, Spore Creatures, Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Summon Night: Twin Age, Tecmo Bowl: Kickoff, The Lord of the Rings: Conquest, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction, Tomb Raider Underworld, Trauma Center: Under the Knife 2, USA Today Crossword Challenge, Zenses Ocean, Zenses Rainforest

These are just titles that I think look interesting, have a fanbase, or otherwise have some potential to be good.

As for Nintendo properties, news of Pokemon Platinum, a companion game to Pearl and Diamond, has recently hit serebii.net and a second Pokemon Ranger game (Pokémon Ranger: Batonnage) has been known about for quite some time. These games are not currently scheduled to come out before the end of 2008--in the U.S., anyway! Platinum is scheduled for August 2008 in Japan, IIRC, so however long the localization process takes. I can't personally speak on other properties, although I seem to recall something about Nintendo revealing information on upcoming games come June/July.

[edit] + Viva Pinata, de Blob

Dragon Quest IV, Dragon Quest IX

These titles alone are reason enough to buy the DS. And they are coming out later this year.

Already out, Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker.

1. look at pdRyia's post of all of the games coming soon

2. You don't have to wait for those games to come out because there's already hundreds of great games on DS. Your thinking of the DS like it was released yesterday and it doesn't have any good games yet, when it was released 4 years ago, and has 4 years worth of great games!

3. Buy a DS

This may be a little off topic but is Megaman for the DS any good?

Also to Mr. Lopez I wouldn't of sold my PSP for it unless you favor Nintendo over Sony, but on the other hand the controls with the stylus pen are really fun, much more fun than the same old analog stick.I currently have both, but since I got the DS I haven't barely touched my PSP.

In my opinion both are great systems with a lot of potential, but sisnce you've already sold your PSP I would definitely pick up a DS it's well worth it.
