Default Stamp Collecting??

I was wondering if there are any stamp collectors around the forums?? I have been cleaning out my storage and I found the stamp collection my grandfather left me when he passed away.
I have looked at some auction houses and found that there are some stamps worth THOUSANDS of dollars...

I really need to find a website that will help me with proper Identification of stamps. I only plan to sell my extras and keep one of each...

any help finding a good site for identification and information would be greatly appreciated (and maybe I'll send you a free vc game if you prove to be helpful )

As I see, you're fromt he US, you sure tried Google, didn't you?

The results on the first page surely can help you better than I can.

What do your Parents / Grandparents say / think about selling those stamps?

Same deal with collecting other stuff: it appeals to completists who like to own rare things. Games, vinyl records, pokeymans, etc...

I am sorry I am looking for a specific website specializing in identification... (since I am back home, I'll get started on my search)

my mom is actually cool with it, I have some stamps well over a hundred years and alot of stamps from europe as well. I dont think I will sell the whole lot.

A few seconds of using Google uncovered this. http://www.allworldstamps.com/
It comes complete with names of stamps sorted by country and year and displays information such as priced if unused or used. The site displays information in Euros and hasn't been updated in three years. I don't know how much of the information is accurate.

Here is another that has been updated more recently. The site also shows values in US dollars. http://www.findyourstampsvalue.com/

Happy collecting.

Edit: Oooooh, there is a stamp ad below my post.
