Does anybody know of any dates for other Square games? i know they're probably holding em back to put on the ds or something for more dosh, but as they've never redone Secret of Mana for any console it seems a shame not to. Sword of mana on the gba is similar but not the same. That game is awesome, but unles you want to shell out megabucks for a copy on ebay, its back to Zsnes if you want to play it.

Secret of Mana is actually the #1 Square game that I'd like to see on the VC. Other people have speculated that S-E is holding it back for a DS remake, and that's probably a pretty safe assumption, but I kind of think we would have heard something about it by now.

I actually have the original SNES cart around somewhere, but I think the internal battery in it died... My gaming buddy and I had to beat it in one sitting because we couldn't save.

I thin if they was going to do a handheld remke, they would have done it by now, unless its gonna get the FF3 treatment and get a complete game engine rebuild in 3d which I doubt. Its not like Square are still getting any money out of it, as the only copies floating about are 2nd hand, or more likely roms of it off the net. I've only downloaded 3 VC games as not enough of the others spark my interest, either that or I've got em already.

Secret of Mana could be the release that kicks the VC into the big time in overdrive.

It would be awesome if they would release this on the Virutal Console. This is my Favorite Snes game of all time and it really deserves something. A remake or released on the VC. So all the ppl who missed out on this great game can enjoy it like I still do.

People automatically assume it's due for a DS remake, but I have a hard time seeing them going back and remaking it after just releasing a brand new game in the series on the same system. Who knows, maybe they'll surprise/disappoint us. But just because S-E are the Final Fantasy remake masters doesn't mean they'll apply the same formula to their other hits, necessarily...
