Default Soul Caliber for GC?

There is a Soul Caliber game out for the GC right? Is it worth getting? I remember playing the original SC back on a PS1 many years ago and thought it was awesome.

Soul Calibur II.

The GameCube version features Link as a playable character.

I don't play fighting games, but friends of mine love the SC series and I saw them playing this title a lot, so I guess it's good.

I had it, great game. The Weapon Master Mode (Career-ish) is great, and it's a good looker too. A must buy if you ask me.

Depends very much on whether you like figthing games or not. If so, SCII ranks right up there with the best, and people like me maintain it's the best 3D brawler ever.

It's deep, georgeous, nigh-impossible to master, and just bout accessible enough that a newbie can pick it up and have fun right away without having to study split-second timings off GameFAQs before starting, VF-style.

And I can tell you, after three years of playing this at medical school (drinking games ahoy!), the two-player matches become utterly, utterly epic.

It's not as era-defining as the original was on the DC, but remove the two added characters (Link's instant ring-outs start taking the **** after a while), and it's better-balanced, and probably simply better.

Soul Calibour 2 was amazing, I can't wait for the Wii version to come out.

No doubt it will have Wi-Fi too

There's gonna be a Wii version? Really? Wait a minute, is that what the Soul Calibur thread on the Wii forum is all about? A Wii version of SC II? If its true, sweet! I wonder if they'll bring back Link for the Wii version since he was in the Gamecube version.

NO...you got it wrong.
A Soul Calibur is being developed for the Wii, butr it is not SCII.

It is named Soul Calibur Legends, it appears to be an adventure spin-off and probably it is not a canonical fighting game.

[EDIT: something more has been discovered, check the thread in the WiiSoftware section]

No. Soul Calibur Legends has been confirmed for the Wii and SCIV for PS3 and X360. SC3 had some really bad glitches that pretty much ruined competitive play, even in the arcade version (which ironically was released after the PS3 game). SCII is still the highlight of the series so far, and a genuine contender for best 3D fighter of all time. Certainly my favourite.
