Yea it really is a "get just a little bit further each time" kind of game. But its fun, addictive, and extremely rewarding if you put the time in. I never beat it though I played it on hard mode up to the middle of the 4th level. I have so many VC games I'm having a hard time just focusing on one at a time.

I've never played it, I just replay the first level because of the ownage music. Think I've reached level 5 before dying the first time and therefor losing all my upgrades and the game becomes unplayable.

I don't find Soldier Blade hard at all. When you beat it once it becomes really easy.

Super Star Soldier is a different story though.

I've downloaded Soldier Blade yesterday and I think it's a great and fair game. At least on the normal difficulty setting and in the first stages. Also it has a cheat code that lets you select the single stages from the main menu.

As it is my first virtual console game, I don't understand how it saves the highscores for the 2 and 5 minutes modes. I've switched off my Wii while being in the game and lost my highscores. Is that normal? Did the original TG16 console save the highscores when switching off the console?

You have to use the "Home button" then "Wii Menu" for gamestate to be saved.

You're kidding right? Regardless of it being one of my all time favourite games, it's not as hard as everyone says.
