Default So the VC almost got Goldeneye? And the rest of Rare's classic N64 games? [RUMOR]

http://gonintendo.com/?p=36601

It's still in rumor territory, but it looks like Goldeneye was all set to go on the Xbox Live Arcade. Rare was even going to put the game up on the Virtual Console! Reggie was supportive of the whole thing but Iwata wasn't so keen on it. Since the game was on a Nintendo system he didn't think anyone else but them should get it.

This is probably old news to most of you, but the new information just adds salt to the wound. Rare was ready to put the game up on the Virtual Console as well! But since Iwata won't allow the game to appear on XBLA, nobody gets the game! To make matters worse, Rare also offered to put their other N64 masterpieces, like Banjo-Kazooie and Conker's Bad Fur Day, on the VC as well.

But now it looks like we get zip.

Dammit, Iwata, what is wrong with you?! RARE IS OWNED BY MICROSOFT!! The only way we can make this whole thing work is to compromise, and the best compromise would be to put Goldeneye (and the other Rare games) on both systems.

Boil up the old waste.

RARE IS OWNED BY MICROSOFT!
And yeah, nothing wrong with that because we don't want Grabbed by the Ghoulies and Viva Pinata on VC.

We want GoldenEye, Banjo-Kazooie, Blast Corps, Jet Force Gemini etc. when RARE WAS OWNED BY NINTENDO!

Get it in your head.
If there wasn't Nintendo who supported Rare, Microsoft wouldn't even know them. Rare was 2nd party and all game code to all N64 games belong to Nintendo. It's simply not enough to put them out on Wii and Xbox. Even if Nintendo gets all the shares, why support the Xbox with eleven of the best N64 games ever? No money can buy it so...
There is no deal.

You know when Microsoft tried to take over Nintendo in 2001?
What were they thinking? Money can buy everything?
Every deal with Microsoft is a bad deal, look at Rare now.

Where's the million-sellers since M$ got Rare?
There's none, except Diddy Kong Racing on the DS.

Call me crazy, but I'd rather the 360 get enhanced ports of the games and the VC to get straight ports of the games then for no one to get either of them at all.

It doesn't really matter to me THAT much, because I still own Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Tooie, Jet Force Gemini, and Conker's Bad Fur Day for my N64, but I know there are a lot of people out there dying to get these games on the VC, XBLA, or somewhere so they can play them again.

Well, Conker was made for Xbox and Banjo 3 was going to be a remake of the first originally but was decided instead for an all new entry so remakes on 360 are still possible. Now, gimmie a super remake of Jet Force Gemini Rare!

Personally, I think its stupid to have N64 games on the 360, I mean, when people start up Banjo Kazooie, they are going to see the N64 logo, and when you put it that way, it sounds like STEALING! DUN, DUN, DUUUUUUUN!

The Nintendo logo could easily be removed from the ports to the 360 and left in on the Wii. That wouldn't be too much of a problem.

They also would have to change Banjo and Conker if they were to wind up on the XBLA because both characters can be seen playing a Game Boy in the games.

Yeah, but Microsoft didn't make the N64, Im suprised that nintendo isn't doing anything about it! Do you understand what Im saying? Even if they take out the logos and stuff its still a nintendo game.
Screw all of this junk, I want Banjo

It's true that the games were on the N64, but it was Rare who developed the games (Nintendo who published them, I think). Iwata's "if it was on a Nintendo system it can't be anywhere else" excuse really holds no water because over half off the VC library (Genesis/Mega Drive, TGX, NEO GEO, and now C64) weren't originally on a Nintendo console. If you look at things that way, then none of those games should be on the VC.
