Default SNES games = hard to play with GameCube controller?

Could somebody list for me some Super NES games that are very uncomfortable with the GC controller, or give me a link to a list? I'm not fortunate enough to own a classic controller yet and want to know which games to avoid.

I haven't read a review that addressed this issue. For example, on the Contra III review, it was a 5-star game, but people were saying in the comments that it was "virtually unplayable" with the GameCube controller.

I've tried Super Castlevania IV, which, luckily, had a button configuration option; ActRaiser, which is a little awkward using the B and Y buttons but still playable nonetheless; and The Legend of the Mystical Ninja, which, fortunately, uses the A and B buttons. I've been afraid to try some games like the original F-Zero and Street Fighter II Turbo because of this problem.

I'm still a little surprised that Nintendo didn't add a controller configuration option to their games, it would really make them a lot easier to play. Ah well, maybe sometime in the near future, we can hope.

Yeah, and the same with Donkey Kong Country..
I bet they made it rubbish so people would have to invest in a Classic Controller!

Most of the SNES games are hard to play with a Gamecube controller. There are a couple that work fine: F-Zero works pretty good, Super Castlevania 4 because you can set the buttons to what you want, and I'm guessing SimCity works fine too.

The problem is SNES games seem to use B and Y as the main buttons and on a Cube pad those buttons are just in the wrong place. I had to get a classic controller because playing DK Country was PAINFUL. If Nintendo were extra nice they would have changed the controls for Cube controllers, but they just want more money, so there you go.

Before i had my classic controller, Donkey Kong Country taught me what it was like to play a game akwardly. I had my index finger on the Y button and my thumb on the B button

Same here. I thought SNES games would be hard to control with the GC controller, so I bought the Classic Controller.

I downloaded Super Mario World and a day later invested in a Classic Controller. I was going to use the money for more VC titles but Super Mario World was almost unplayable with the gamecube controller.
