C'mon no love for the Shinobi? I knew this would get lost in the Super Metroid guffaw for the North Americans just as Dynamite Headdy seemed to grab all the attention in the EU.

Let me say it again, this game is bloomin' ace and everyone should check it out!

I actually bought Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master and prefer it over both Super Metroid AND Neutopia combined. I really love its amazing arcade action! ^.^ Infact, I even prefer this over ActRaiser!

(just not Paper Mario...)

I was quite surprised that they went with Shinobi 3 and not Revenge of Shinobi. I mean, why put them out of order? Or, even more terrible a thought, what is they don't plan to release Revenge at all?

Now, don't get me wrong, S3 is a fine game and I was happy to download it, but I really have a soft spot for Revenge, because it was a magazine review about that game way back when that was one of my major reasons for chomping at the bit for a MegaDrive (Genesis) when they finally came out in the US.

But, one Shinobi is better than nothing.

Revenge of Shinobi has some licensed characters like Spiderman and such, if I recall correctly.

There were 3 versions. I remember I had the earliest version which had spiderman, a batman lookalike and godzilla.

The 3rd version would probably be OK for Sega to release with no hassles:

Does anyone know if this has appeared on any of those Sega compilations on the PS2 yet? Maybe it will never come out!!

Version 2 was released over Europe originally, so I don't think they'd have any legal problems re-releasing it if they pay for the Spider-Man license.
