Any sports game with real players/teams is doubtful (at best) due to licensing issues (the same thing with Indy and Rambo).

There was a Madden 94/NHL 94 plug and play released last year that had the players' names removed, but since the team names (and even the league names) are still in there, it's not likely that they could directly port those versions to the VC.

According to Wikipedia (I know, sketchy) Midway has said that some Mortal Kombat games will be on the VC, but given Nintendo's "no M-rated games" stance, that's kind of in the air right now as well (and yes, I know the original MK was rated MA13, but with the blood code in, it would be rated M).

Some Megadrive addon games such as:

Sonic CD (with the original music - not that crappy new soundtrack we got on Sonic Gems. If it aint broke why break it?!?)
Snatcher
Final Fight CD
Chaotix

And for the Megadrive itself:

Road Rash
Flashback
Shining Force 2

Wow lotta great games bringing back memories /tear.

One game i played a bunch just because it amused me and I have not yet seen it mentioned in this thread.

Buck Rogers Countdown to doomsday. The ship battles were quite fun really.

And i'd love to see the various desert strike games those were fun.

Not specifically a megadrive game though it was sega CD
Dark Wizard. Though mostly I just want more really good RPG tactics games x.x

All the games I want were pretty much mentioned in the first page of this thread, so I wont bother repeating them.

I haven't read the whole thread so I don't know if it's been mentioned, but I would like to see Rings of Power on the VC.

That game was epic.

I'd like to see Ranger X. It was quite odd and interesting. It's one of those platformer/shooter crossovers, aka run and gun games.

And before you ask, yes it is a game, yes it's Megadrive and Genesis, and no I don't think it's on the VC yet.

There was another "Strider 2" back then but it looked and played like a fangame, so Capcom will always pretend it never existed.

MUTANT LEAGUE FOOTBALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (American Football)
I just love to smash the qb and the ref!! I still have that game but itd be a instant dl for me since my Genesis is moody sometimes and doesnt always work, its just too much fun to pass up
K.SLAYER is the best defensive player in the game!!!, I'd win just by using him to smash the qbs until theyre all dead and gotta forfeit! I dont even need to score to win!

I'm just wishing and praying for Warsong. Shining Force II would be nice to see eventually. They're both listed as "coming soon" on the reviews site, though I have a hard time believing Warsong will come to North America.

EDIT: The Mutant League games and General Chaos were pretty fun too, but I went back to them a while ago and they play like crap now. Haven't aged well at all. It would still be fun to have some co-op General Chaos matches with my mates, though.

The only game I want to be released for the Genesis is Street Fighter 2 Special Champion Edition, much better and more accurate sounding music than the SNES, not to mention it has 10 star setting for speed in Hyper mode, and you can get 5 star speed with a code in Champion mode.

I can't believe I've just read through 15 pages of posts and now one single mention of...

Speedball 2: Brutal Deluxe!!!!!

How did you guys miss that one as an all time classic?

Also like to suggest Mega-Lo-Mania which still stands out (for me anyway) as one of the greatest god games ever.

This is a list of pretty much every game that could be released for the Genesis that would interest me. I've included games here that have no chance of a VC release, just for the sake of completion. There are a lot of games in here that have a lot of potential for an eventual release, though!

01. Gemfire (would prefer the SNES version)
02. General Chaos
03. Genghis Khan II: Clan of the Grey Wolf (would prefer the SNES version)
04. Lemmings (would prefer the Amiga version!)
05. Lemmings 2 (would prefer the Amiga version!)
06. Liberty or Death (would prefer the SNES version)
07. Mega Man: The Wily Wars
08. Mutant League Football
09. Mutant League Hockey
10. NHLPA Hockey '93
11. NHL Hockey '94 (would prefer the SNES version)
12. Nobunaga's Ambition (would prefer the NES version)
13. Nobunaga's Ambition: Lords of Darkness (would prefer the SNES version)
14. Phantasy Star IV
15. Romance of the Three Kingdoms II (would prefer the SNES version)
16. Romance of the Three Kingdoms III: Dragon of Destiny (would prefer the SNES version)
17. Shadowrun
18. Shining Force II
19. Uncharted Waters (would prefer the NES version)
20. Uncharted Waters: New Horizons (would prefer the SNES version)
21. Warsong (already out in Japan—bring it here!)
