| It was only a matter of time. :P Just wondering, is there much difference between the MS and GG versions of Sonic 1 (And any others that both consoles had)? I have the GG Versions many times thanks to Gems and Sonic Adventure DX, but am curious about the MS versions. |

| Jumping Piranha Plant | not really. Bigger resolution and some different sprites but thats about it. Oh yeah and there is like 1 or 2 object placements that have been changed (The emerald in the labyrinth zone has been moved for one thing). But really the games are practically identical.

| In the SMS versions, you can see things before running into them, and thatīs basically it. Oh, and the first boss in Sonic 2 can be beaten in less than a million tries. |

| I want the SMS versions on the VC, rather than the GG versions. I cant see Sega or Nintendo bothering, when they can just rip them off Gems and Adventure. |

| It would make more sence if they make the MS versions available. A lot of Sonic followers will no doubt have the GG versions already thanks to Adventure DX, the PS2, X Box and PC Versions of Mega Collection and Gems Collection, so no doubt the more obsessed fans would download the MS versions, rather then own the GG Versions again. Besides, the MS versions are more fit for TV playing... |

| iirc, Sonic 1 on SMS had different coloured chaos emeralds, rather than all of them being blue. Not entirely sure on this, as I was 10/11 when I last played an SMS2 |

| Well if they make the SMS versions available, might get one of them. My VC collection seems so lonesome without a bit of Sonic T.T |

| in Shinobi World | The Game Gear had a slightly better colour palette, and in the case of the Sonic titles, as others have mentioned, the action is a bit more zoomed in, so your field of vision is smaller, and the games are more difficult as a result. Not a huge difference, really. |

| I know Master System had Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, and Sonic Chaos, but was there a Master System version of Sonic Triple Trouble as well with larger view and better resolution? I always wondered about that. That was the only 8-bit Sonic game I liked. |

| There was no Master System version of Triple Trouble, unfortunately Sonic Chaos was the last Master System Sonic platformer. |

| I agree that it's a real shame STT game never got a SMS port, and that we have to play it like in the upper screenshot instead of fullscreen. ![]() It would have been much more enjoyable.

| Since we re yet to see any GG games, maybe Mr Sega would be very nice as to make em full screen like SMS games, if it were possible? |

| Well, that's Sonic 1, 2 and Chaos out in America. Question is, what if anything will be next? The spin offs (Mean Bean Machine and Spinball) or the GG Only games? Hmmm. |

| Triple Trouble's next in line. Plus it's a Game Gear title so it may as well be the first to possibly come out. Blast is better as a Game Gear title. The Master System one from Brazil kinda sucked. (I said this on some other topic too).

| Iggy Koopa | Really? Blast really sucked as a Game Gear title, IMO. The SMS version must've really been ****, eh?

| Sonic Blast on SMS was only released in Brazil, I don't know whether we'll get that. They could release Sonic Spinball on Master System, I think that will be next if anything. |

I know it sucked but it might as well have a release and we can all get it over with and hopefully not complain if it should come out with a big release. Highly doubtful but we can dream

| I have this GG version on Sonic Gems Collection, Sonic Adventure DX and Sonic Mega Collection Plus. I didn´t like having to play on the small screen form and is worse on the normal screen form because the pixels are much exploded. Anyway, the game itself on the MS/GG version is pretty cool, but the Genesis/Mega Drive version is superb !

| I got this gifted to me in the Secret Santa so I thought I'd share my views on it after my first play session. Differences This seems quite different in play style to the Mega Drive games. There are levels that autoscroll for one thing (ala Super Mario World) and there seems to be less emphasis on speed (which to be honest isn't a feature I really enjoyed in the 'real' Sonic games). I prefer my platformers more slow and inventive and this seems to be more akin to that type; basically I feel more in control of Sonic than I do in the Mega Drive version. The game seems easier than Sonic on the Megadrive although its a little annoying that when you are hit you only get one ring (presumably the master system couldn't handle redrawing multiple rings spilling out). Boss encounters are also ringless so one hit and you are dead. I like the idea of having to find the Chaos Emeralds in the level themselves rather than collecting them through bonus levels. The pinball style platforming in the bonus levels are, in my view better fun than the rotating stages in MegaDrive Sonic and there are plenty of opportunities to get extra lives and continues here. Negatives Like Sonic 1 on the Megadrive this isn't speed corrected for PAL so the music feels horribly slow. The borders actually seem a bit smaller than those on the Megadrive's VC output but there are some blue borders already around the screen which also reduce the overall screen display. I think that was common on the Master System. Does anyone know if the later Master System games were speed corrected for sound like Megadrive Sonic 2 etc were?

| Don't think they were, but you don't want to bother with 2 or Chaos, they're not as good as the first. |

| They must be pretty easy then since even I with my exceedingly un-leet skills made it to the final set of stages on only my fourth proper go. I even found two chaos emeralds.
