Earthworm Jim 2 - MD/GEN

Earthworm Jim is back with his new sidekick, Snott, for an off-the-wall sequel in Earthworm Jim 2.Containing more action than your standard platformer, each stage has a unique style and mission that draws on game play from different genres, including: mazes, trivia contests and arcade style levels..

It is for sure crazier than the first one. I liked it better but they are both great.

This might not be the right place to ask this, but has anyone tried the PC versions of Earthworm Jim? There's EJ1, 2, and 3D in one package on Steam for $20. So I could get that or get EJ1 and 2 on the VC for $16. I know EJ3D wasn't anything special (I even rented it years ago for the N64 if I remember right), so is there any incentive for me to get the PC versions otherwise? Because I think I'd rather play a platformer like Jim on a TV than a computer screen.

An even better deal on the PC is on GoG.com, where you can get both Earthworm Jim's (1 & 2) for $5.99. Here's a link.

I believe it comes with a special level that wasn't in the SNES and Genesis versions. It was in a PS1 version or something. Don't remember what version it was originally in. Anyway, if you want to get it on Steam, wait for a sale. If you want to get it from GoG, go ahead.

Edit: Oh, it also has a redone soundtrack I believe. You can use Youtube which has the PC version of the soundtrack up somewhere.

The redbook audio is worth 5.00 alone. You can't go wrong with Jim.

This review is ridiculous. It makes out this is more frustrating than the original Earthworm Jim, yet I actually find this easier than the first. Also there is no mention that you can skip each level by collecting 3 tokens and beating the level you want to skip.

Although it might be fustrating if you are playing this using a PC emulator with a keyboard.

I agree. I found the majority of EWJ2 more manageable. That is except for "The Flying King" and "See Jim Run, Run Jim Run" levels. Good god.

I actually didn't find The Flying King too bad, although that last level See Jim Run was a bit of a pain. Good fun though.
