Default Sonic for the SEGA CD

okay if SonicCD was 16-bit along with any other SEGA CD game then why does it look like sonic for the master system

It doesn't, although it was done by a different team to Sonic 2 and 3 which could account for a few differences.

You're clearly mistaken, as it uses the same style of graphics and sounds as the original, 16-bit Sonic the Hedgehog.

Is it possible you were playing one of the other games on Gems Collection?

I can't see how anyone would think they looked the same.

On a totally different note, here is the Sega CD Lunar opening.

It obviously must've been some kind of mistake.

And that was a totally random, albeit not unwelcome link you posted there. I really should remember to play Lunar some time. The intro has pretty cool music, it's already stuck in my head.

I should probably play Sonic CD more, too. I got halfway through and just...stopped. Perhaps I'll finish it during Sonic Fest, whenever that is.

My favourite part of that has always been Ghaleon's fist clench. What a champion.

Here's Amon's battle theme from Dark Wizard:

Man, Sega CD games had some good music, didn't they? What kinda game is Dark Wizard, anyways?

Dark Wizard is a grid-based strategy game kind of like Fire Emblem. You play as a ruler/general character (you get to choose one from four of them: two good, two evil). You start each battle on your home base, and you can create/deploy as many units as you can afford. You can even give these generic units names and watch as they level up into unique members of your team! In addition, there are some key storyline generals that you can get on your team who truly are unique.

Wow, now that just sounds awesome! I definitely have to play that someday.

It's probably my favourite Sega CD game. It edges Lunar and Shining Force by a bit.

Wow, coming from you(and my own experience with Lunar and Shining Force), that's really saying something.

Wow... that explains a lot. I was always wondering why this song was on the Lunar SSSC (PSX) soundtrack-CD, since it didn't appear in the game.
Now i know, thanks JoYo

I think you must be referring to the link Refa posted, not me. Amon's theme definitely isn't on the SSSC soundtrack, but the original intro music from TSS is on there despite not appearing in the PSX version of the game.

Sonic CD is very good indeed. However, the Japanese version has far superior musics and a pity that the American version of Sonic Gems Collection for the Game Cube doesn't possess, but only American version that I consider much weaker.

Sonic CD is coming to XBLA, PSN, PC Download, iOSm Android:

And with amazing japanese soundtrack !

Sega has officially announced an upcoming re-release of Sonic CD for nearly every device under the sun. Sonic CD will speed its way onto Xbox Live, PSN, PC, iOS (iPhone and iPad), Android and Windows Phone 7 "late" this year. Alas, it looks like a WiiWare release isn't in the cards, presumably because the game and its (Sega) CD-quality soundtrack would exceed Nintendo's storage limit.

Speaking of the soundtrack, Sonic CD will feature music from the Japanese and European version. Overall, the Japanese soundtrack is generally regarded as better than its American counterpart ... however, it doesn't include the classic title track "Sonic Boom," which was created for the American version. We suppose you can't have everything.

This already has a thread: here

We don't really need another ROB to copy and paste articles from news sites. Kobayashi. Also if you are going to take the articles and post them here you should really have them in a quote box as it looks like you yourself have said those two paragraphs.

How much stress!

It's been a while since I enter this forum and did not know the topic of his Robotic "friend".

The topic is about Sonic CD, what's wrong with posting a game-related news here?

No worries if you didn't know, I was just informing you. If you're not aware of R.O.B just check out his 'about me' section here

Well like I said we already have ROB so we don't need other members copy and pasting more of the same information. It's better to post your own content and then link to the related source if necessary.

If it's 400 points I'll pick this up when it's out otherwise I'll wait for a sale.

Nothing personal, but I think this type of observation exaggerated. Here is a discussion forum and not a military academy whose discipline is total.

In my view, a forum should have rules, but also flexibility, after all we are human beings and not robots. In my opinion, this type of restriction ends leaving members uncomfortable and discourage new members.

There's no problem with you posting Sonic CD related information in the Sonic CD thread.
