All three of the SMS Sonics were only released on the SMS (and the Game Gear but that doesn't really count) but why is that stupid? Would you have rather had Sega release 8-bit games on the Genesis?

No more stupid than releasing Mario for the NES.

I always liked this one - second only to Triple Trouble as the best GG Sonic. I might actually pick up this one, as I felt that the small scree on the GG version was its only major flaw.

Eh...what Sonic games do have a storyline? Back then, all the story was on the back of the box. Just saying.

It's the greatest 8-bit Sonic. Yey, you have yet to come up with an actual complaint.

I finally got this but it keps freezing . Right between where you select who you want to play as and the start of play on the first level. I've tried several times. I guess I'll contact Nintendo...

Sounds like it's worth it for the sonic fans that never got to play the lesser known titles. I will probably pick this one up.

Length really doesn't matter to me all that much. As long as it's fun.

It is INCREDIBLY short. It makes Sonic 1 look like Dragon Quest VIII. I believe that Sega spent so much time refining the graphics and the gameplay that they didn't have time for longer levels.

My copy lasts for a few seconds before it goes to a black screen. That is a really short game! LOL. I hope I can get it fixed...I did want to play it.

I believe this game is also available on Sonic Gems Collection or Sonic Adventure DX Director's Cut.

Rumor is Sonic Adventure may be coming to PSN. Sounds like the regular version but I will hold out and hope for the DX version.

The DX version is worse than the original though, so I'd rather have the original.

I'm shocked! Does that mean it will come with the Game Gear games?

Dunno. All I know is that Sonic Adventure DX got rated for the 360 and PS3. We'll find out once they officially announce it (not counting the "leaks").

I don't know why they would. After all, it would take away from their Master System revenue, unless they're so thick that they think people don't own a Wii and a PS3/360.

Technically, that's the Game Gear version from what I understand. (Which means lower resolution.)

And smaller screen. And yes, it is actually somewhat of a hinderance.

It is Sonic Adventure DX with a smaller screen and no game gear games :
Sonic Adventure XBLA/PSN will not have widescreen, or the Game Gear games « The Sonic Stadium

As for Sonic Chaos im not too fond of it. Its far too short and easy. I can beat this game in 15-20 minutes. Compare that to Sonic 1 which is still easy but is a better length. that takes me about 45 minutes or so to beat. And Sonic 2 is still about 45 minutes in length but alot harder. And Sonic Triple Trouble the game gear sequel was alot longer and had better level designs and bosses. This game is the weaker in the 8-bit series I think.

And I agree with Refa. The original Adventure was better than DX. So im quite disappointed that the DX version is the one we are getting.

The only reason I wanted DX was for those older games I never got to play. I had no idea that DX was worse. What makes it worse exactly?

Yeah, I died a couple times from glitches, especially on the final boss. Now that was a pain! I still enjoyed it though, and I liked the new mission mode.

Is the DX version worth getting on PSN? Doesn't really sound like it.

Id still say it is. Its not a bad game. Just the dreamcast original is far superior. If you have a dreamcast then I highly recommend you track down the original instead. If you dont then DX is still a good substitute.

Don't buy the XBLA/PSN version. It has all of the crap of the DX version without any of the good things, like the extra games. Just like how Animal Crossing City Folk is infinetely worse than the original, this rerelease is so much worse than the GameCube rerelease. Just buy the GameCube game if you dont own a Dreamcast. And if you do own a Dreamcast and you don't own Sonic Adventure, wow.

Yeah, Bades, you have a Wii, so you can play the GCN version just fine. It usually goes for pretty cheap. Unless you don't have a Gamecube controller (which aren't hard to come by), you should be just fine.

Yeah I would have to get my hands on a gamecube controller. I will probably just do that rather than get the psn version.

As much as I've complained about it here, I wanted to say I finally got it to work. I don't know how but I know I probably had to reset like 15 times. Anyway, it's a decent 8-bit Sonic and I'm glad I played it. I don't feel all that compelled to complete it, but maybe someday. I'll complete the SMS Sonic 1 first (that one I got really close to doing anyway).
