Not a bad little platformer. I may get it eventually, but certainly won't be in a rush to do so.

I never played the Master System Alex Kidd games. Are they better than the Genesis one or is it more of the same "rock, paper, scissor" nonsense?

Much better. There are some rock/paper/scissor games but they don't feature as much as in Enchanted Castle. This is one of the best 2D platformers pre-Sonic.
