Default SD Card?

I apoligize in advance if this is in the wrong forum.

I was going to go buy som of the WiiWare games today and I was wondering how many blocks I had left. So I go to where it says that and it says I have a total of 450 left. So I am thinking, " Oh, alright. " But then I see at the top left corner instead of saving them to the Wii I could save them to an SD card. I don't remember buying one but when I click it, it says I have 15,600 blocks! So I open up and little flap on the front of the Wii and sure enough there is a memory card there ( 2 GB ).

I called my friend who also owns a Wii and he said he doesn't have a memory card in his Wii and he doesn't have the extra blocks.

I realise this is probadly gonna sound pretty dumb but does that mean I can use up those 15.6k blocks? Does the memory card work like the one that I used for my gamecube?

Sorry guys. I know next to nothing about computers.

Think of the SD card as backup. You cant load stuff(game saves/VC/WW) directly off it, just copy data from and to it. And yea you can fill all those blocks.

Totaly agree, though Nintendo is actually looking at releasing a Hard Drive for the Wii.

I wouldnt say SD cards were expensive. I just bought an 8GB one (not for my wii) for £11 off ebay.

I take my hats off to anyone who can fill that up
