Default Will Saturn or Dreamcast ever make it to VC?

As it says in the title

Saturn is 32 bit

Dreamcast is 128 bit

Is it going to happen?

Anything is possible. Except Saturn would be a nightmare to emulate due to it's dual CPUs. Dreamcast would have the problem of large ISOs to download.

Maybe next gen if Sega open up the inner workings of the consoles to Nintendo to develop a robust emulator.

Saturn perhaps. I don't really know. I would be surprised if the DC made it to the Virtual Console, simply because it ran off CDs. If a game uses up nearly all of the CD space, that's a) gonna put a strain on the Wii's internal memory and b) take quite a while to download... Plus, I think the DC is quite advanced in itself, might be a bit of a struggle for the Wii to emulate effectively.

But then, someone else might know differently.

Speaking of 32bit/128bit, while we're discussing it, is there any chance that Atari's consoles will make it? Any chance of seeing the ill-fated Jaguar?

Sorry, but there's a better chance of seeing a flying pig than a Dreamcast game on the VC!
Internal memory is 512Mb, that's smaller than a CD size which is what Dreamcast games were.

You could say that about Neo Geo games, a few of those would eat up the humble 512mb quickly.

The USB Drive add-on which was rumoured for the Wii looks like a certainty.

It looks very unlikely. As it's been said before, Saturn is very difficult to emulate (and the games are on CDs so there is the space issue).

Dreamcast would be even more difficult for the Wii to emulate, from a technical point of view that would be almost like the Wii emulating a PS2 - and even the PS3 has difficulty with that.

Maybe it would be technically possible, since a lot of the games ran off its 16-bit processor which is not a lot better than a SNES. But I don't think anyone would bother building a Wii emulator for it, there are a handfull of decent games but not enough.

At this rate, wouldnt buying a pre-owned Saturn or DC pretty much solve all our problems? =D

It's easier to emulate the DreamCast than the Saturn.

Also, the SEGA Saturn used CDs and the DreamCast used GD-ROMs, which hold even more data than a CD.
