Post Sam & Max ready to Wii-lease this fall (Joystiq)

Telltale finally confirmed to GameSpot that Sam & Max's first season is coming to the Wii this fall. Rumors of Sam & Max bringing their freelance form of policing to the Wii began in early 2007 and became pseudo-confirmed this January in a German press release. The game will be a port of the Sam & Max: Season One PC compilation.

Sam & Max for Wii will be published in the US by Dreamcatcher and The Adventure Company. In Europe, JoWood will handle publishing duties of the game, which will have French and German voice acting, with Italian and Spanish subtitles added. No word yet on price for the title, but if it does end up being budget priced (PC was $30), we're very curious to see if this excellent adventure game finds an audience on the Wii.

[Thanks Sam]

Cool. I'm pretty sure I'll snag this one on its release day.

This is excellent news. I never looked into Season One because I'm not much of a PC gamer anymore, having the equivilant of a high end PC for 10 years ago. But I loved all of the LucasArts games back in the days when they were good, including Sam and Max. So if they're going to port the sequel series to Wii, it just now allows me to play it.

I just hope there isn't any gimmicky controls added. No offense to games like Zack and Wiki which might be fun themselves, but let's try to keep the game as much like it was on the PC if we can.

Heard is spelled with an a as well. Anyway, the reason you have never heard of it is because the point and click genre is nearly dead and it is only these few titles that keep the genre floating. Not too long ago adventure games had a completely different meaning. Anyway, if you miss this you miss one of the funniest series around.

I hope it'll sell well enough to warrant a release of the later seasons. It would suck to be stuck with only the first season.

I personally hope it sells enough to get LucasArts into gear and maybe release the MI series on the VC? Or re-release them for the Wii? :P

Fat chance. Lucas Arts has pretty much given the finger to adventure games - with the rest of the main industry. Long live the Star Wars cash cow. *yawn*

I'm sure if Sam and Max Wii is a really big success, LA might consider releasing *something* for the wii... even if it's zak mckracken on the virtual console or something...

I'm praying :P
