DS player will never happen, It's just too illogical and a bad idea. you've got your two seprate screens, one of which is a touch screen.

If it happens the only real way they could do it is have the top screen display on the TV and the bottom screen is still on your DS. The Wiimote cursor couldn't be used as a virtual stylus as it's too imprecise/difficult to steady.

Major problem: Many games require you to be able to look at both screens at the same time or transfer from one screen to the next very quickly, The gap between your bottom screen on the DS and your TV is gonna be quite big and you won't easily be able to look at both and transferring between the two would be time consuming.

Yes they could make it only work for the games that only really need your eyes on the top screen for gameplay (Mario 64, Mario Kart, etc) but there isn't that many of them and it wouldn't be worth it.

Thanks for the explanation but it was just a joke. I didnt really think about the touch screen any waht not so it wouldnt work out so good.

I have a Game Boy Player that I got a couple of months ago for free. A lady gave it to me. Complete with disc, manual, etc. Nice find! The main reason it's so great is because I can play great GBA games like Metroid Zero Mission with a proper controller instead of the tiny portable system's buttons.

Someone gave it to you for free? Boy you were lucky!

It's too bad that the Game Boy Player can't snap into the Wii. Cuz then I could finally sell that stupid Gamecube. The GB player is the only reason I use that thing nowadays, as I now play all my GC games on Wii. Not only does the Gamecube controller better-suited to some games (as Jogurt stated), but it's awesome in that it makes you feel like you're playing a NES or a SNES game.

Its obvious why they didnt make Wii compatible with Wii, incase they wanted us to shell out for GB/GBC/GBA games on VC. Shame really, but its every reason to keep the old Cube (That and GC Imports!).

I got mine when it first came out. Nifty little things, shame they didnt release matching colours like in Japan...

Yeah! I love matching things up, and the GBP looks a little odd with my platinum GCN, but at least it's not an obnoxious colour. It just looks like a little base plate dealie. Oh well.

kawaii, now a card reader, that's something I'd like to get my hands on. I had someone lined up to sell me one for $1, but we couldn't meet up.

Ouenben: Couldn't they make it work so that you used the DS as a controller, but it displayed the screens on the TV? I mean, I guess it'd take getting used to but it *could* work, couldn't it?

On-topic, I have a Game Boy Player and I love it =X I actually found that I played a lot more Game Boy games after getting one, it's a lot easier to play them on a TV than on a tiny screen =P

what so you can use the stylus on a blank screen without seeing what your doing?

Also both screens would have to be stretched (or have big boarders) for those of us who have widescreen displays.

It's just not feasible what so ever.

I had one since I got my Gamecube, until I got rid of my Gamecube for the sake of my Wii.

If I ever get a 'cube again, this would be the reason why, but to be perfectly honest, I'm happy with the portability of my GBA and DS.

On a related note, I did buy a Super Gameboy recently. Quite nifty as you can make your own boarders and the GBC games that work on it have alternative colours (Simlar to the colour the GB games get on it). Viridian City looks so green at night in Pokemon Gold/Silver. o.o

The great things about the Super Game Boy are 1. that it's still relatively cheap ($10 or so for a used one?) and 2. that you get to use the awesome SNES controller rather than the ***some GCN controller.

I like the Game Cube controller.

... Although, in my opinion, the PS1/PS2 controller thrumps them all (and it DID take design ques from the SNES controllers).

And 2nd place would be the Sega Genesis controller, and then the NES Advantage, and THEN the SNES controller.

If everything goes well, I'll get my GameBoy Player next Tuesday. I just found it used for 10 Euro. Now I can finally get back to my GameBoy/Color games (and get some new ones). My GBA's are too dark and damaged to play them.

Unfortunately in a sign of the stupidist stupidity of all time the PAL super gameboy actually makes your game boy games run slower and with borders even though game boy games were region free!

Just like the Wii's mega drive emulator downgrades hanabi titles into 50hz suckiness.

For that reason Pal owners are advised to get the GBP and a nice Horipad

After thinking about it more and more, and playing some more GB games on my trusty GBP, I think I've really come around to the idea of that SNES/GCN hybrid Hori pad. Too bad they seem impossible to find nowadays. None on Play-Asia, none on eBay.

Last time I saw one on ebay, it went for around £20-30 if I can remember correctly.

You can backorder them here:

http://www.consolesandgadgets.co.uk/...ue-p-1424.html

You don't happen to have an adaptoid (N64 USB adaptor) do you? As i'd be interested in a swap for one of them.

Thanks for the link. I don't have an Adaptoid unfortunately. Yet another sweet discontinued product. Surely there must be similar products out there now / still being made that do the same thing?

there's a USB connector but only the adaptoid lets you use the rumble pak and controller pak.

I'd rather have a Classic Controller for the VC; I like the build quality of Nintendo's controllers over Hori's.

It is useful for Gamcube games, though.

its a USB adaptor that lets you plug the N64 into the PC. basically the best adaptor for N64 emulators.

I wouldn't mind one of these

But thanks partly to the utter destruction of the UK exchange rate its far to expensive to justify.

Ouch, over £50 for that right?Waaah (Though I did see the Wario Edition GC Controller for about £90!)

Out of interest, didnt the NES have infer red wireless controllers? I thought I saw some in a shop when I was very young.

Nintendo doesn't build an arcade stick at all, so I don't see your basis of comparison. Also, the Hori stick can't be used for GameCube games.

Ouch! I got one last summer for $30-40 or so. I figured the price on them would shoot up, but I didn't think it would be that much that fast ($100 now!).
