| I can't really answer this question as I never played Twilight Princess on the Gamecube but if I'm going by what I see on the Wii and just put GC controls on it.....that would be a hard choice. Both games were very, very good and there is no clear cut better one here. Wind Waker was shorter but I loved it's graphics, while Twlight Princess had a darker feel, but was too mild otherwise. Eh...I just don't know! |

| Yeah, Id have to say I preferred twilight princess. Wind waker was great, don't get me wrong, but there was a distinct lack of dungeons, and far too much sailing around... it was a real time waster. As for story, I would have to say they were a tie. *SPOILER* When you go beneath the ocean and find hyrule thats just awesome. I secretly hoped because the game was so short that there would be several levels under the sea, but alas, just the final boss. As for twilight princess the gannon being executed bit was brilliant, and double hookshots?!? OMG how cool was that! |

| When I originally saw the art for wind waker, it was a real turn off. But when I finally decided to play wind waker for the first time earlier this year, I would be tempted to say that the wind waker graphics are my favourite in the series. Twilight princess is pretty, but the animation in wind waker is great. I love my japanese cartoons like naruto and dragon ball z, so the cartoon-ish display really helped make wind waker a gem. Moreover, considering the amount of water in this game, it was probably a computational master stroke to avoid reflections etc. |

| I prefer Wind Waker. While Twilight Princess is pretty similar to Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker is quite different. I like to sail around and really enjoyed the artstyle and dungeon layout. I can't really comprehend why so many people seem to dislike the cell-shading graphics of WW. |

| I appreciate both games for what they are. I think is great to play as an older Link and it great to play as cel-shaded Link. There is enough room in the Zelda-verse for both IMO |

| Wind Waker, TP felt like a step backwards. |

| Lakitu | I would say TP. I thought the Great Sea Sections ruined Wind Waker

| Wind waker is much easier than TP so I'd vote for TP since it takes along time before you can move on to the next part of the game and the bosses on WW are much easier while the TP bosses takes along time before you know to defeat it. |

| I went back through them both recently, and while both have their faults, I prefer TP. Wind Waker has that bloody fetch quest, has fewer dungeons, and the overworld is too large. I honestly think the only way you could prefer WW is in terms of looks. As a game, and specifically a Zelda game, TP walks it. |

| My younger sibs loved wind waker, but personally I like Twilight Princess. I hope a sequel to it comes featuring all the great ancients from Eternal Darkness Sanity's Requiem.

I like Twilight Princess more, for one reason; I haven't played Wind Waker. But I saw a review, and that game looks bad-ass! | |

| At first I was dubious of Cel Shading in Zelda, but after playing Wind Waker, my fears were completely swept aside. Visualy, I think its the greatest Zelda (granted I've never had a chance to play through the entirity of Twilight Princess). But as much as I like Wind Waker...I loathe the sailing. So my vote goes for Twilight Princess (if only because it doesn't have sailing).

| You should pick up Wind Waker. It's pretty cheap to get now and you can play it on the Wii. All you would need is a GC controller and a memory card if you don't have any. While short, and lacking dungeons near the end, I think the sailing is great fun (unlike what other people say) and the game feels different than many of the other Zelda games, at least, in the beginning. (and not counting Majora's Mask) |

| Yeah there is a best zelda game thread somewhere... its either in virtual console discussion or general discussion, can't remember. Ocarina of time appears to be winning the console best zelda, while the handheld best zelda is anyones guess. |
