Default Favourite Gamecube games

Great idea for forum Divine!

What is everybody's favourite Gamecube games?

For me standout moments of the last gen were:

Resident Evil 4
Ikaruga
F-Zero GX
Super Monkey Ball
Viewtiful Joe
Pikmin

There are loads more games I love from the cube too. Out of the PS2 and XBOX1 I have to say I liked the cube a whole lot more personally.

Wind Waker
Smash Melee
F-Zero GX
Mario Superstar Baseball
Animal Crossing
One Piece Grand Battle (no. really.)

I suggested this to Divine.

Paper Mario 2 (Best GC game IMO)
Resident Evil
Resident Evil 4
Chibi-Robo
F-Zero GX
Pikmin 2 (1 was good as well, but 2 was just astounding)
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
Metroid Prime (I found 2 very boring)
Mario Smash Football in multiplayer
Luigi's Mansion

Ikaruga is still the best shooter around and is worth a buy even though it's a GCN game.
Other than that it's like SSBM, Zelda:TWW and the Metroid games that are worth a buy he you haven't played them through. In the everlasting wait for Goldeneye 64 you could spend time with TimeSplitters which have a really fun coop mode and a Goldeneye like partyplaying* mode.

*also called multiplayer, but it's on splitscreen.

Ikaruga is outstanding, but it'll always be a DC game to me, so that's excluded.

Metroid Prime 1 and 2
Zelda: WW
Eternal Darkness
SSX on Tour
F-Zero GX
Viewtiful Joe 1 and 2
Alien Hominid

Haven't played Resident Evil 4, but since I have Zero and the Remake of 1 and think they're both ****e, I'm biased. But 4 is still a game I keep promising myself to play.

I've got a whole bunch of GC games on my GC console (as well as the game "organizer"). I'll tell ya my fave GC games:

F-Zero GX
Midway arcade (all versions, but not all games)
The Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition (4 games in one: TLOZ, TLOZ: Adventure of Link, The Ocarina of Time, and Majora's Mask*)
*Not my favorite game
Metroid Prime/2
The Legend of Zelda: Twlight Princess (Again... GC version, not Wii)
Namco Museum
Star Fox Assult

I've got more games for my GC, but I won't list them here.

I also thought the original Resi was pretty rubbish (haven't played the remake), but Resi 2 is one of my favourite games ever.

I never played Resi 4 and was all set to get a used copy to play on Wii, but with the news that we're getting a Wii edition, I think I'll just get that.

Ika is my GC-Fav, then FE:PoR, F-Zero GX, Viewtiful Joe 1+2, SSBM, Skies of Arcadia Legends (yeah, i know: has the Origin on the Dreamcast), Smash Football and Paper Mario.

Since this I've been introduced to RE4 on the PS2 by a mate. I have to say it looks bloody good. I'll wait for the Wii version, though, aiming with a pad was quite sluggish and would get on my proverbials after a while. And the GC version is still £25 quid or more, so getting it on the Wii makes sense.

Naomi = DC with a superhero cape. Still excluded from my GC games list

I'm glad to see some have already mentioned Eternal Darkness. I bought the game when I first got my Gamecube and was surprised at how good it was. I'll be purchasing it again shortly to add to my Wii collection.

I'll give everyone a quick rundown of the game without spoiling it. If you like horror games, it is a must. If you like games with great stories, it is a must. The graphics are only so-so as it was originally a N64 game and development was moved to the Gamecube right before its launch. The game has an original meter called the "Sanity meter". As enemies see you, your sanity meter begins to drop. When the sanity meter gets too low, strange things start to happen in the game. Most sanity affects are meant to seem like a technical difficulty of some sort, so it begins to play with your head a bit. It has great replay value since you don't get the true ending until you play through three times. Plus, it's quite cheap now in the US. Hunt it down, you will not be sorry.

D= I completely forgot to mention Eternal Darkness.
It's a truly fantastic game, I also reccomend everyone to get hold of it!
A Wii sequel would be awesome.

Not to burst any bubbles, but Silicon Knights are hard at work on Too Human (apparently the most expensive game ever made ) for the XBox 360. No Eternal Darkness sequels for us *sheds a tear*

Animal Crossing (played it for well over a year on a daily basis)
Eternal Darkness
Paper Mario 2 (even better than the already fantastic PM 1)
Metroid Prime
Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker
Tales of Symphonia

Those are the best, but there are loads of other great games like Wave Race BS, Pikmin, Rogue Leader, Luigi's Mansion, Pac-Man Vs, etc.
